I've basically loved most of eminem's music (yes including recovery and his recent callabs. sue me) and while I don't agree with elisions point of view of em I do agree that em should broaden his musical horizons a little. work with the unexpected and make ear challanging music. I remember when someone photoshopped a fake forum post of koolo listing songs he was apparently gonna leak a few years back and one of the songs was picture perfect ft elton john. I know it's been said to death but I wanted that callab cos atleast it would be a little different and unique to what he normally puts out or who he normally works with. I was BEYOND disapointed when that song along with dear ronnie was revealed fake

I know you're probably trying to fix your reputation of being the Eminem "hater" on this site, but statements like these make you look stupid.

That's what's wrong with you Blu, you take this reputation shit so seriously :facepalm

Wtf? The statement is stupid.

Sure, the outcome has been shitty for my standards, but I do get that from Em, like, he spends a lot of time in the studio and I'm sure he's rapping his ass off just for the fun of it.
There's a ton of artists who rap for the fun of rapping. But what I don't understand is what makes you think Eminem is currently even on that list. You're saying Em "spends a lot of time in the studio" etc. But how often do we even hear a verse from the dude? Every other artist who lives in the studio is constantly producing material. Whereas with Em? well frankly we never see material. I don't think the dude puts in nearly as much studio time as many people here would like to believe. And even if he did, he doesn't seem to be very busy in there at all.

I did narrow it down to a few artists though. If we take a look at guys like Rakim, KRS, Big Daddy Kane, or G Rap (who are generally considered to be some of the greatest); and then those on a more mainstream level like Jay and Nas, Em is more dedicated to it than them. Though as I said, Nas has been killing it lately but he was lazy between Stillmatic and Distant Relatives.

I can't say that Em spending a lot of time in the studio is a fact, it's just an assumption I've made based on what people around him have been saying, as well as the way Em has come off in his own interviews. As for his efforts, it shows in Relapse and Recovery because they're vastly different, and there's a lot of attention put to detail such as in the rhyme schemes (I don't really care for rhyming that much, nor do I like Relapse but it does show). And for him to do that in that stage of his career, after all the personal bs he's been through, and just bs in general considering his level of fame, he gets my respect for it. That's not to say that he hasn't put out lazy material like some of his latest verses.

Also, and I'm not trying to use this as a cop out, but Em doesn't really need to put out material on constant basis. All he needs to do is drop out of nowhere, and he'll get his. Plus, he did drop 3 projects in the span of 3 years, so it's this last year that has been really dry.

Even back in the days, Em would say that he doesn't want to be all around the place and he'd rather keep you waiting and wanting for more. It's not a logic I agree with when he does it to an extent when he's nowhere to be found, but it does remain a relevant/possible explanation.

And again, I'm not saying that you're wrong, just giving you my reasoning.
