the point?... what's the point in him making shit to begin with... ? to try and make some incredible art that has an impact... which is what he's still doing.

not achieving that isn't a reason to quit, it's a reason to continue; he's 40 not 80... why NOT keep making shit? Just because we have a nice pretty narrative of his discography and give meaning to its 'perfectness' as a linear body of work... none of it matters. It's all just messing around and creating things for the fuck of it any way, so I don't know what that means @ 'it wasn't needed' kind of mentality...

'needed' or 'worth it'... like it's a job or a roulette wheel where he has to either take his winnings or keep spinning lmao. None of it matters any way. If you're still alive, you may as WELL.

all this talk about hip hop being a young mans game. in a few days time three legends of the game who are all still active and relevant will all be in their 40's - nas (40), jay z (43), eminem (40). jay and em got another birthday before the end of the year too

snoop is 42 in october, kanye is 36

hip hop never had so many older rappers who are relevant. times are changing

Stigma, your post is ridiculous. Eminem doing what no rapper has done before? What, put out 3 good albums, one shitty one and 2 OK ones..? The roots have like 9 good, solid fucking albums. Matter of fact, Black Thought comes correct every single song, without a hint of slipping. Unlike Em, Thought only gets better with time, simply because he is an actual poet who is trying to prove nothing. Get outta here with Em being the greatest. Em is the Stephen King of rap. He's good and everyone knows him. But Thought is the William Faulkner of Hip-Hop.

You know if Eminem does make a classic and shuts people up, I think after that point, he can do whatever he wants. If he wants to make even more music, so be it. I was thinking eminem could rap about whatever the heck he wants and it doesn't matter how old he is. Think about some underground rappers. They have some of the most rawest content and they don't seem to ever run out of material. I'm thinking mmlp2 will be extremely hardcore and violent. And the smart people will know half the time slim is clowning around, but the gullible people will fall for his act. Just like the halftime thing. At that point, as long as the production and flow is good, it shouldn't matter anymore.

Em should make more albums kind of like Relapse, but with a more serious raw underground hip hop feel and no accent. Non forced, just pure spitting. His lyrics will always be great, but it's not always what he says, but how he says it. As he gets older, he should just do the opposite of what people expect, just rap about more and more insane stuff. Go even harder. Why the hell not? Forget all this crap about growing up. We need to understand entertainment is entertainment. He's Eminem and already 41. Kind of too late for that. He's grown up in real life and Do you really think he'll ever ''grow up'' in his music soon if he's still making mmlp's at age 41? Of course most of his fans will know he's clowning, but as long as he delivers quality, listenable content, it shouldn't matter. Just go with it.
