We're talking about the greatest rappers, not the best ! They're taking mainstream success into account. Kany West was involved in different projects (WTT, MBDTF, Yeezus, Cruel Summer), Drake has the record of most #1 hits ever, you can't expect kdot, cole, Nas and Eminem to be in thetop 5 when J Cole first studio album was only released in 2011, Kendrick first studio album was only released last year and Eminem hasn't released anything in years.


Greatest and Best are 2 different words for Complex.

Drake is mad overated, but I can't argue with his spot.
I think the the word "greatest" is what is confusing, and the criteria they use in determining it.
Arguably, Recovery >>> all 3 of Nicki's albums and radio hits.
Then add Relapse.
And then the Forever, Drop the World, Airplanes II, INAD and the rest of the features pre/post Recovery.
Then Hell: The Sequel with Fast Lane and Lighters.
Then you should come to the same conclusion I had before even reading the list, which is that Complex makes shit lists and shouldn't be taken seriously.

The subject is "greatest rappers"....so tell me how Kanye fits in this category within the last 5 years? Oh...that's right. He doesn't.

As a HUGE fan of Kanye's early work, and even a fan from a couple songs off MBDTF and Yeezus...I'll never understand why people ride his dick so hard. His abilities outside of producing are less than average...he can't sing without help from auto-tune, and his rhymes are elementary at best.

It's a shame someone like Kanye gets so much shine, when there is talent like Big KRIT out there getting slept on.

J.Cole hasn't put a good studio album in his entire life. Hov released albums worse than Kanye's (all in the same years). Eminem barely deserves a top ten spot if we aren't talking commercialized success. No one currs about your definition of a "rapper".

Debateable with Jay-Z and Drake. Just like it is with Eminem. The other two are obviously trash. Never said anything about the others deserving it.
