2009: OMG Beautiful is one of his best songs ever, but Relapse was meh.
2010: OMG Recovery is so awesome, it's like the next Eminem Show!
2011: Relapse is a masterpiece and Recovery sucks.

lol gotta love this place.

You can feel his pain, he wasn't over complicating anything with his bars, which lets the listener just feel every word he's saying. I love that song, I've always though it was one of the best songs on Relapse.

I still think Headlights is better. Keep in mind I think GTC is on par with Deja Vu and those two beat the shit out of his previous emotional songs (excluding Rock Bottom and Hailie's Song).Shady50 wrote:Us Stans are a crazy bunch haha.

Never said this tbh. I loved Recovery a lot at first but it didn't get me to say "WOW" like MMLP2 did.
And Relapse was and will forever be an amazing album to me.

Encore because it followed three classics, and was a huge let down after those amazing albums and because of the 4 TERRIBLE songs on there. Relapse because it was the firs time hearing him do an actual album in over 4 years, and it just wasn't as good as I was hoping for with the "Slim Shady is coming back on this album" hype going in, and because of the accents he ran straight into the ground.
I still main Encore is a decent album, with some GREAT songs and some TERRIBLE ones, and some solid ones. And Relapse is a solid album, with some great songs, a few really bad ones, some good songs and some filler songs, and whole lot of weird accents that only worked well on about 3 songs or so.
I still rate Encore a 3/5 and Relapse a 3.5/5

This is almost exactly how I feel.
Oh, and MMLP2.

First album I listened to and was disappointed was Encore and then Recovery after 1 week of the leak.

Haha seriously though, we share a lot of the same opinions.

Tbh I loved Encore when it first came out. It wasn't as good as his first 3 albums, but I really did like it. Back then I was 12 and I thought shit like Rain Man and Big Weenie was hilarious. Now not so much lol. When Relapse came out I liked it a great deal, but the accents were killing it for me. I was very impressed with Recovery and I still think it's a great album for its emotional value. Not as good as MMLP2, but still a great album.

The accents made the album drop about half a point for me at least. Had he only done it on 3AM, SSD, SWA, MBTG, and maybe Hello or something, it wouldn't have been nearly as bad. But he did it like 90% of the album.
I dug the accents on Drop the Bomb On Em though, love that song. And I dug the half accent, half normal style on Elevator, Music Box, Deja Vu though.
