No one wrote him off after Recovery. Maybe after some of his questionable guest appearances following, but certainly not Recovery. It was, as he said in his own words "highly coveted."

It was his second spotlight. First was MMLP-TES where he was everywhere and you couldn't avoid him if you wanted to. Recovery was the same way because of its broad sound and commercial appeal.

The general public liked the album but the hip hop fans did write eminem off after it, also especially after some of his recent guest features, but MMLP2 was something no one thought eminem was capable of. So i would say recovery-mmlp2 is the biggest improvement.

I was on RapBasement when Recovery leaked; initially they were all saying the album was absolutely godly and there wasn't a weak song. That initial hype softens of course, but even right up before MMLP2 - people on StudioLeaks have always referred to Recovery as a solid album and saying they doubt he'll be able to deliver like that again etc.

And they're some of the most cynical Em dismissers.

From Recovery to MMLP2 without a doubt. The difference in quality is unreal, I can't believe how much I loved Recovery at first. It was just new album hype at the time but tbh it's a sup-par project. Still a great album, yeah, but for Eminem I think it sucked. Not worse than Encore but the next worst thing. The punchlines and concepts were just too bland on that album.

He improved considerably from Recovery to MMLP2. MMLP2 he brings great lyrics, concepts, variety, and flows. That was what he was lacking on Relapse and Recovery, though I love the fuck out of Relapse. I can recognize its flaws and feel safe putting MMLP2 over both Relapse and Recovery. Most certainly above Encore.

I ALWAYS saw people in studioleaks talk shit about eminem ever since recovery. It was not until Rap God came out that people finally started to think he was dope again. I feel like eminem really proved something with MMLP2, in some of his songs it sounds like straight shit you would hear from his prime. It is miles ahead of recovery. imob

Yeah I agree yo but seriously... they always talk ish about Em but... Recovery was the strongest reception Em got for a while wit them peepz.

They were saying (even up until recently) that the ish was solid as phuk and it's unlikely he'd be able to deliver on that kind of level again.

And yeah, Em's rapping on Recovery is miles ahead.

There is no cringing line, verse or moment on MMLP2... everything is dope.
