That's why context and intent is so, so important. I mean, faggot is food here in the UK but it's pretty obvious that's not what that youtube comment was referring to (or Em for that matter).

At the end of the day, language evolves. There was a time when faggot had absolutely nothing to do with homosexuality and i'm sure in 500 years time, the meaning will have changed again (if the word still exist).

The problem isn't someone using homophobic lyrics (or lyrics that could be interpreted as homophobic) the problem is we are living in a society where some people will blindly do what they are told, or automatically agree with what an artist (or anyone influential) says without using their own brain and fail to see art or a creative piece as just that. The problem is people not lyrics.
