Although how much I respect Eminem's production, I feel it's occasionally too layered for its own good. And it doesn't have that rich rawness that the great producers have. Hm, I can't explain it, but undoubtedly despite his catalog of some good beats, his production is a little bland. It manages to impress at times though. He needs a more original style, IMO. Sounds too much like Dre at times.

Dre is where he learned how to produce I believe...so obviously for a while some of his beats are gonna sound similar. I think Em's are a bit more melodic but I agree though that he does need to be a bit more different but I think with time he could be a top tier producer :) Even though some of his good beats are really awesome IMO.

^yeah, it's nothing like the usual, dark Em beats we're used to. Personally I don't like it much though.
