Cole, have you even heard Will Smith before 1998? No offense but nowadays, people know who Lil Wayne is, but don't know legends like DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince, Kool G Rap, Eric B and others.

But getting back to his solo efforts. You should listen to Potnas by Will Smith. Samples another dope legend & song, and is just a good song in general. Good message as well in it.

"Friends, how many of us got them?". Good song :y:

Will is what got me to em so i like him and besides "Lost and Found" was dope, just really showed what his skills are like imo :smoking:

I do, however hope Em and Will make up. Never really liked that comment on TRSS :(

i'm pretty knowledgeable in rap, Kool G is my man, Eric B's beats are corny to me and generally ruined Raki'ms early material (he did start sampling though which i praise him for)

Smith just isn't my style, i don't care if you cuss or rhyme amazingly but i'm just not into his kinda rap, sure i sing the fresh prince theme song when it comes on, and i think he's a great actor, but i'm used to a different genre of rap and i may give him more chances farther in the future

well I give you props cause you the homie and you do know hip hop, unlike kids that just listen to Lil Wayne and shit from 2000 on and up lol. But that's cool. Can't make anybody listen to anything else. You either like it or dislike it, ya know?

I think Will just does it cause that's what he's used to. Back in the 1970s/80s they didn't have a lot of cursing in rap. Did Run DMC curse a lot? No, not really. Did Beastie Boys curse a lot like they do today? No not really. Even though he talked about street life & the streets, did Grandmaster Flash curse a lot? Not really. That was just the culture back then. He still carries that mentality with him up until this day when he raps.

No not really. His last album Lost & Found came out in 2005. He's a rapper but he does movies. He's a movie star. A lot of rappers star in movies. Ludacris does a lot of movies, same with 50 now.
