I agree with Scott on this one. For example, I dont feel so much emotion in Deja Vu at all. He forced so many multies in it that it lost its true appeal. Thats why Beautiful is a lot better song, cuz it served its purpose. :y:

agree, Deja Vu was shitty cause he forced so many rhymes, actually Relapse was soo shitty cause he forced so many rhymes

go back and listen to Sing For The Moment, or Rock Bottom those songs had the multis and the emotion and weren't forced. that's some good music not Deja Vu, I hate that song.

mockingbird may have simple rhymes, but its not lyrically horrible theres alot of deep lines in that song.

To me, a song that has multiple rhymes every bar and clearly had a ton of thought and work put into every word is more effective than a song that could have been written by an 8-year-old.

I agree it's a ton of work, but a lot of work into a song doesn't equal quality. Ex. "We Made You" is poppy bubble gum garbage. And ironicly, the only people I heard bumped "We Made You" were 8 year olds.

'Beautiful' carried a lot of wordplay in its verses, especially the latter half of the 1st verse.

"I know some shit is hard to swallow/But I can't sit back and wallow, I'm my own sorrow/But I know one fact, I'll be one tough act to follow/Here today, gone tomorrow"

The 'ollow' sound is present in middle/end of most lines and he connected "back and wallow" to "act to follow".

Rhymes weren't obvious, lyrics/story instantly connects a listener through true emotion. He rhymed words that normally wouldn't rhyme.

Eminem can write meaningful songs and people listen because they are crafted and meaningful. No one else on these forums nor a majority of rappers can't grab someones attention that well and keep them interested through a 4 minute song. It ain't a coincidence that most people enjoy his emotional songs more than his jokey ones. Real talk is better than gibberish/generic lyrics.

You think an 8 year old can fabricate such a flow?

What?

We're talking about lyricism. A lot of the rhymes in Beautiful, When I'm Gone, and Mockingbird are ones a child could come up with. Ex: "slump/hump/dump/lumps"

I can't believe so many people dislike DeJa Vu...

Has to be one of my favorite Eminem songs.
"America...just a nation of two hundred million used car salesmen with all the money we need to buy guns and no qualms about killing anybody else in the world who tries to make us uncomfortable" — Hunter S. Thompson

"Poison the well, your enemies are thirsty!" — Modest Mouse

100% TRUEE!!! We Made You is emarassing as hell, i'd rather listen to a deep song than a bullshit track with no meaning or emotion.

hey retarded motherfucker, did I ever mention Beautiful or MockingBird? I'm pretty sure I only listed Rock Bottom and Sing For The Moment...

it's ok though, some people are just naturally retarded and I dont judge against them, so i'll just forgive your arrogance.

and here's how deja vu's forced:

I'm a prime candidate for the gene to receive the drug addict trait.
^ that's not even fuckin proper english

to a harder prescription drug called Valium like yeah that's great.
^ yeah that's just soo great

plus let's not mention all the shit ass rhymes: "great, ate, steak, eight" almost reminds me of mockingbird..

Look at my daughters face...
'Mommy somethings is wrong with dad I think!
^i've never heard anyone say Think like that...

So I take a Vicodin splash it hits my stomach and ahh.
A couple weeks go by it aint even like im getting high.
^ didn't know AHH and HIGH rhymed but cool em..

anyways Deja Vu HAS A DOPE CHORUS and the second verse is a classic but everything else about it I hate... the first verse was shitty, third verse was decent, beat was too happy

plus, his emotion was completely forced IMO, at least compared to Rock Bottom..
