how could a REAL hip hop fan not appreciate good multies ?

SWA is pure genius.

or any song with multies that sound good (but none compare to the kinda multies in SWA), just for the fuck of rappin, shit is crazy

This.

To me rhyme schemes are the most important part of the 'talent' portion of what makes a good emcee.

And to brush them off like no song needs them is ricockulous.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Stay Wide Awake's multis are horrible

I say they're not really comparable.

Yeah of course, like Cold Wind Blows, On Fire, Won't Back Down,Seduction, No Love, Cinderella Man, So Bad, Almost Famous, Untitled

ALL real life situations...That's 9 out of 17, so that's more than half

To clas, although I think people are way overrating it (I see a lot of people calling it his best multi work), I don't see how you could think the schemes were horrible.

I mean, there was A LOT of word stretching type shit for the schemes, so I can understand why someone would dislike it, but horrible?

And using 'real life situations' as an excuse to cut out intelligent syllable planning is stoopid.

Intentional^^

Sadly, I feel like I have to point that out. Lmao.

honestly the one thing that disappointed me about Recovery was that he dumbed down nearly all his rhymes. very basic now. not that i'm surprised. when i heard "Not Afraid" and heard him say he doesn't care for Relapse i figured he'd tone down the rhymes a lot.

EDIT: also, how does a "clever" punchline have any more replay value than a creative rhyme? once you hear it you know it's coming. i still get a kick out of "Titty fuckin you till your breast nipple flesh tickles my testicles" not because i "like what the line is about" but because that's some pretty sweet rhyming.

Cause the shit I hear is crazy
But your either getting lazy or you don't believe in you no more
Seems like your own opinions, not one you can form
Cant make a decision you keep questioning yourself
Second guessing and its almost like your begging for my help

Stay Wide Awake was #1 on Relapse

like someone said you really can't compare any song on Relapse to Recovery, it's two different styles

but Buffalo Bill tops Stay Wide Awake by a long shot :y: :y:
I strike a still pose
And hit you with some ill flows
That don't even make sense like dikes using dildos

the problem is you picked a bad example of a song because of multi's, simple as that

I suppose it depends on your priorities, but frankly i completely disagree with the idea that Stay Wide Awake is better than Recovery simply based on the fact that Stay Wide Awake has multis. I don't know about you but i listen to music to feel it, especially with Eminem, and nearly every song on this album has done that for me. I just thought Stay Wide Awake was fucking stupid, especially when it was deep into an album in which every previous song was basically about the same subject. But hey, if you listen to music to count the syllables then sure, you are probably going to think Stay Wide Awake is better than most of Recovery. In technical terms it probably is, but i couldn't give a fuck to be honest.
