because the beat AND the chorus both have been used by some other artist earlier on. and because his lyrics could have been waaaay better.

No, nothing cracks my top 10 on Recovery.

In fact nothing on his lat 3 albums did to be honest. Deja Vu, Almost Famous and Stay Wide Awake make top 20.

True about the nostalgia. But before I Encore dropped I had my Eminem Top 10 that I had. And I think since the Eminem show, probably only Deja Vu or Beautiful (maybe at 11) cracked it.
