Listened again, my thoughts right now, not going to deep into it, I need more listens for that
Shady XV
Someone already said it, but this is like a better version of So Far. It drags -just like So Far- but it has more funny/great parts than it. And, it doesn't have parts that are as awkward as the taking a crap/picking my nose shit. The Fack part, Rihanna line, going blonde, control verse response, I liked those parts. I know it doesn't really belong with this song, but I would have liked this to have a hook tbh. 7,5/10
Psychopath Killer
Honestly a little pissed that Joe and Joell aren't on it. The hook is pretty good and I really like the beat. But I don't get how people can praise Eminems flow so much on this. He is just trying to rap fast and cram as many syllables into a line as possible, it's unlistenable at times. Now I don't really mind it here, because there are parts where he does flow good, but I rather want him to adapt to the beat (more relaxed) than trying to impress people with his fast rapping. 7,5/10
Die Alone
Yeah, he has made better broken relationship songs. This is the second time that Kobe has an awfull hook on an Eminem song, except that the verses on Talkin' To Myself were a lot better. I expected this song to be the albums highlight, so this is a little bit of a letdown for me. I like his 3rd verse more than the other 2, his flow when he starts the verses is great. After the beat drops it's good. Lyrics are not bad at all, but not really special either for me. 7/10
Vegas
He did cause controversy with this one, just like he did all those years, I like that. Pathetic response from Iggy though. But this song did take me back a little to the earlier days, I like it. The whole Nicki/Iggy part, the Robin William mentions, it's vintage Eminem. Now someone said this is the best BME track, I disagree. I prefer the songs they did in the beginning (BME, Scary Movies, Nuthing To Do) but this song shits all over that horrible album named Hell: The Sequel. 8/10
Y’all Ready Know
Can’t really say much about this. I like the beat and the verses are all pretty good. But I’m sure I won’t listen to this song much. 7/10
Guts Over Fear
As much as some songs are overrated by a lot of people, I feel like this gets less credit than it deserves. Not a fan of the beat, and the hook is very long and boring, but I like Eminems singing. The first verse is generic and nothing special, but not bad at all. The second verse is very good, and I actually like the flows he uses on it (the migos flow at the end was nice). I don’t want another We Made You, but I also don’t want another Not Afraid, I like the line though. 7/10
Down
I have never been a fan of Yelawolf, but I enjoy this. His energy, the beat, the hook, Yelawolf does a good job on this album overall. But again, I feel like I will not be listening to this after a few weeks. 7/10
Bane
The shit is unlistenable to me. I’m having trouble listening to this from start to finish. Remember when D12 songs were actually good? I don’t think that Eminem could have ‘saved’ this song tbh, especially at the end it really sounds bad. 4/10
Fine Line
Now this is what I want from ‘new’ Eminem. Great subject matter, I know he has made songs like this many times, but the execution is very good here. The beat is very Eminem, and the hook/sample is one of the better ones lately. Especially love the 2nd and 3rd verse. The shoutout is great, but Eminem talking about how fame affects him (wanting to get out of his house etc.) is what makes me like this song in the first place. He did it on So Far.. as well (and before that), but this time in a serious way. 9/10
Twisted
It’s just Eminem singing the same thing twice. This is definitely not as horrible as Stronger Than I Was (I get back up and UUUUUH) but when Yelawolf needs to save an Eminem song, something definitely is wrong with it. Not saying Em and Skylar were bad, I kind of liked it, but it gets old very quick, until Yela comes on. 6,5/10
Right For Me
Great beat, reminds me of Evil Twin a little. But again, Eminem is more busy trying to rap fast, than adapt to the beat. I’m really having a hard time trying to like this. This guy was known for killing every beat he was on, I’m sure a lot of people are impressed by this, but it annoys me. Some good lyrics on here, and on the 3rd verse I like his slower, more relaxing flow, but I have to get through the first 2 verses to get there. 6,5/10
Detroit vs Everybody
Very interested in the west coast version of this, because I like this. Big Sean kills this. The others were pretty good as well, lol @ people saying Danny Brown is shit. Eminem has a good verse, and the beat is great too. But the hook, one of the worst I have ever heard. 7,5/10
This is around a 7, which I think is pretty generous. It has one, or maybe 2/3 very high points, and one awful song. The rest is kind of in the middle of that. MMLP2 had more great songs than this, obviously, but this has only one bad song, where MMLP2 had more. Still prefer MMLP2 as a whole because there are more songs with replay value for me.
