Yeah no wonder they keep struggling with record sales on most artists, these fucking turds don't seem to understand the basic premise of exploiting viral craze.
I mean, apart from Eminem's legion of fans, I truly believe the reason he sells the most everytime is because they release the 1st single, then BAM the album a month later. Every single fucking time. Where as you look at other artists, they release the 1st single, sometimes as much as 6months - 1year before the album.
Then another 2 dud singles, then the album, then 2 more. They completely miss the boat everytime by not capitalizing immediately on the buzz of the 1st single. 1 song, that's all you need. They seem to think the way to do it now is by hammering 5 or 6 songs over the course of a year, along with billboards and adverts. Bullshit.
Eminem has proved the way to do it is that 1st single then the album immediately after. The song is still fresh in people's minds and people who just buy albums for that single will buy it at the peak, right then, not 6 months down the line when they're sick of hearing the fucking song. People forget very easily and with the amount of artists, trying to sustain their attention with a carefully planned tactile stream of marketing which revolves around an outdated, failing TV-industrial complex is absurd.
I mean just look at Em's team, they totally missed it with Relapse 2 now. The PERFECT time, would of been in December, the anticipation from Relapse 1 still fresh, the awesome freestyles throughout the year (including BET), the interviews, all creating a natural buzz within hip-hop. But okay the album wasn't ready then. But THEN, he wins 2 Grammy Awards and performs two songs, with Wayne and Drake respectively.
He re-ignites the buzz to the public / hip-hop world, if they had released a 1st single a week after, then the video a few weeks more, then the album... Would of absolutely exploded. They seem to create all this buzz then just... Not exploit it. If the album ain't ready, they should stop geeing people up and acting like something's gonna happen then just failing at the post.

I was so ready for him to drop at least something (really,
