Eminem filming a movie called "Southpaw"?

For the person who asked whether Em's too old for this, absolutely not. Christian Bale and Mark Wahlberg just did 'The Fighter' which is a huge movie, and both are A-listers and potentially up for Oscars.

Secondly, the initial concept is very good. This has huge potential. The producer is good, Sons of Anarchy is a very Eminem type show, it's very dark and has great story telling and is often action packed, but never ever done in a bad way. It's mostly story than action, rather than the other way around.

Thirdly, I hope they get a good director.

They're actors, they're both highly fit for the roles as well... Em is.. not in boxer shape and he's 40 lol

Anyone in the entertainment industry can get in shape. It's easy. They have so many people helping them with their training, dietitians controlling everything they eat etc.

Btw. I really think you guys are not considering that this movie is OBVIOUSLY not about a heavyweight boxer. For all we know this may be about welterweight boxing champion. Not every boxer is huge, in fact most aren't. Look at Paquiao and Floyd Mayweather.

Mark Walhberg is 39 and his character in The Fighter is 31. Plus Bale is 36 and played Wahlberg's older brother (around 41 or so). And they are both perfect in their roles.

Have you also seen Marks arms, he's put on like 10 pounds of muscle for the role? lol

It'll take months of working out for Em to get in shape for a boxing role, I'm not saying he can't do it but obviously it's going to be a challenging role to fit for a person of his physique

Yeah I agree he'll have to put on a ton of muscle. I wonder if he'll consider steroids to be drugs and avoid them when he bulks up?

Hopefully this is real.

It's again the perfect timing if so and will be a huge success by all probability.

In actuality, most actors are best when playing versions of themselves, that's what a good actor does. So if you saw Eminem as anything you'd see a version of Eminem as X.

So it's not really valid when people keep saying playing Jimmy wasn't really acting.

And, this is an interesting context and a perfect idea. As, it's not within a context reflecting his actual life, but the themes are the same - A prominent figure rising / falling and then coming back, against the ropes. But the fact he's a boxer / different person allows for independent character-creation.

So you could get the perfect blend of relation and originality.

And right after Recovery too, it could turn out very good if true I think.

But Em also said he doesn't want to be in a movie like 8 Mile again where he's the definitive lead role and in every scene. And this seems like that kind of movie again so... not sure if he would even taken this on right after what 8 Mile / that pressure lead to.
