2010 was equally powerful, in some aspects even more powerful (endorsement deals).
Puting sales aside (the three Recovery singles alone sold 17 million ww) and the fact he signed a new publishing deal, look at his other activities. He signed three official endorsement deals. Lipton revealed they gave him $1 million. Chrysler announced the ad cost $9 million and it's mostly just him driving in the car. Chrysler openly thanks him for a record breaking boost in sales. I don't know what he got for DJ Hero but if I guess it was good for him and Jay-z. Also, Em has been doing an obvious product placement for Red Bull and Nike.
Then there're his shows. Some people could argue he didn't tour but since all his shows took place at big festivals that he headlined, the amount of tickets he sold easily equals to a whole tour. I read he got around $3 million just for his show in Frauenfeld (circa 45 000 fans). I don't know what he got for his shows at Oxegen and T In The Park but they were sold out. 80 000 fans attended the show at Oxegen so you can have an idea. I read he received $4 million for the shows with Jay-z. He had a sold out show in Brasil too and also one show at Epicenter.
His music also apperad in all kind of ads, trailers and promos. He's the most popular person on Facebook and the only person beside Bieber with two videos in Youtube's top 10.
