Relapse better than The Eminem Show?

Sing For The Moment? Cleaning out my Closest? Till I Collapse? White America? Soldier? Square Dance? You can practically post the whole tracklist for The Eminem Show to prove how good of an album it is.

In my opinion, Relapse is a decent album. It's nothing spectacular. Granted the rhyming is great, there's no denying that. It did produce some great songs such as Deja Vu, My Mom etc, I'll give it that. In my opinion, it still doesn't touch The Eminem Show. It's a classic.

In my opinion, Relapse and Infinite are his two worst albums. The horrible sound on Infinite just really bothers me, and I don't like most of the songs really. There are very few I play often. Most of them I just listen to rarely. Relapse, ugh, that accent is too much, and it just seems a little aimless, like he's just rhyming for the sake of rhyming with nothing to say on most of it.

He has such a profound vernacular and the way he carefully places each word is spectacular. He creates such a unique and vivid image with his lyrics. I particually love the phrase "spilling these raps." It shows how it doesn't even seem like he's trying anymore, they're just spilling out him, similar to the way a 5 Star Chef spills his award winning sauce on the floor. He always starts it out in an amazing way, "Till I collapse." It shows how he is like a collossal giant on top of this rap game, and how he will keep rapping until he collapses, similar to how a mountain collapses during an avalanche (Mount. Everest of course because Eminem is at the top). I love the wordplay at the end as well. "Long as you feel em." It's a genius double entendre with em, which is short for them, referring to the raps and em, which is short for Eminem. So until he collapses he's going to keep rapping as long as you feel him as a rapper and the raps themselves. Which is also a metaphor for how him and his raps are one and how he puts his life in his music.

Good god you're a faggot. Every lyric doesn't have to be some literary device out of an AP English textbook. Eminem's mic presence/raw emotion/flow on Till I Collapse > every single one of your little nerdy rappers. I'm not even debating you, I'm just highlighting the fact that you're a blatant walking advertisement for abortion clinics.

Quoted because this is one of the best posts of all time.

Neither of those two albums are garbage. Infinite was amazing, and you know it is. The song infinite just blows me away, and it has a lot of meaning to it. And all relapse songs(if you really know eminem) talks about SOME ONE. I dont care who it is, but each song has a meaning, and is talking about some one. In same song and dance he isnt talking about some fucked up shit, he talks about how girls are so dumb to just prostitute themselves, get into a guys car, or any car at that, and expect nothing to happen. Girls like that dont think it through.
How the hell did he manage to get more felony charges? He's already got life in jail now what the hell is his problem.

Alright I might be confused here, but from reading through the thread I am pretty sure this guy was just joking around when he said this. He had just called eminembase a stan for analyzing lyrics too much and then he comes up with this over the top analysis. Now why would he do that? I'm thinking its sarcasm.

wow you took that pretty far. If you read through the rest of the thread you'll see he was kidding. He had just called someone else a stan for analyzing lyrics too much and then he posts this overanalysis as sarcasm. :facepalm

Actually Embase....

The lyrics are: It's probably YA'LL, cuz I ain't akward at all....

You know, like; It's probably you because it isn't me...lol..

and thus making it not a unique way to start a statement

Relapse gets way too much credit on here, most of it was distinctly average imo

If we're talking about great albums, we'll never get another Marshall Mathers or Slim Shady LP.

To everyone that says infinite and Relapse are his worst albums.... you must be mistaken for like Not Afraid or some shit. Relapse was one of his my LYRICAL albums. It went fuckin INNN. Infinite was so laid back, relaxed, and was just straight chill. Backstabber, It's ok, and Infinite. I still to this day sit back, roll a blunt, and swag chill to those songs.

Always sounded like "that's probably all" to me.

But either way, makes no difference to my point lmao.

Because I used it as an example. An example of his phrasing from the late 90s. Again, example. So even if that example is incorrect, the point isn't lost as his phrasing was still unique in the late 90s and there's plenty of other examples I could highlight.

That one specific one is not the crux of the argument. It's a pawn.

If you were just correcting me on the line then okay. But if you were implying therefore my point is lost, for that to be true - that one specific phrase would have to be the only known example to me of his 'unique phrasing' from that period. Which, obviously it isn't.

lol just correcting the lyric....cud care less about your arguement with whoever ....Eminem is good at stuff, i agree...just thought it was funny to find the phrasing of a bar so remarkable, when its not even what he said....happens to the best of us i suppose

Yeah but like I said, it's not the specific bar that is important. It's not that I found that specific bar so 'remarkable' though I did think it was unique and weird. Which is what I said.

But, I find his phrasing from that era (late 90s) unique. And that one bar (which I got wrong) was just a single example of that. So, what I said still remains.

Because it's his phrasing and style from that era I was emphasizing. Not one line.
