Someone on SL found that.

Em's verse is nice, Royce's is good. And the chorus is horrible.
Not even just in context, I just can't stand Bruno Mars. His voice becomes annoying almost immediately to me, it's just too... I dunno, innocent and irritating. B.o.B would of been better.
Given Em's verse content and some of the things he says, I think this was made for Recovery. With Royce. It's a shame they put this on there, clearly for sales as even though it's an EP and out on Shady Records, Jimmy probably still wanted decent sales.
So once again Em has tarnished a project for the sake of a hit.
This is going to no doubt sound so ridiculous and out of place with the rest of the EP. Luckily it's not as bad as "Beautiful" on Relapse as the styles are similar here but still, that chorus on a BAD MEETS EVIL album? it's just bizarre. Sounds happy, corny and cheesy.
This definitely would of been good on Recovery. With Em or B.o.B on the chorus.
Master Chief wrote:Guys, if all the songs on the EP are evil, crazy, battle or fun/funny tracks then it will be criticized for a lack of variety in content. This song was necessary for many different reasons. And please don't use the "In 1999 Em & Royce would have never done... etc. etc. etc. bla bla bla" excuse. They've grown as artists and people since then. Today's Bad Meets Evil isn't the same exact Bad Meets Evil in Scary Movie or in SSLP's Bad Meets Evil. They will not make a song that is gonna be very similar to those and I guarantee you that. The closest will be Welcome 2 Hell but the production, content, flows, attitudes, humor will be different but that's not a bad thing... at least not for me.
Because I accept today's Eminem and today's Royce (which isn't THAT different to old Royce) and I can enjoy the music knowing it'll probably not be up-to-par with the old tracks but then again the new tracks have more replay value for me. While some people look back to that original Bad Meets Evil song and immediately cross out the new songs, and don't tell me no one does that because that's a sack of shit.
With all this said, Lighters grew on me.
