Because the song is a gay excuse to move more records. Eminem from 10 years ago would probably make fun of it. It's a tween version of KIm. It's about as gay as Not Afraid. Em's verses make him sound like a bitch. It's basically a sellout song imo, whether or not Interscope encouraged him to write it/work with Rihanna, or if he did it to stay relevant/prove something to himself, I have hated it since the leak, and could tell it was going to be a single/overplayed.

Dude I can just say that you're way off. The Real Slim Shady is a mainstream pop song. It might distinguish itself from other mainstream pop songs by being a parody type of song, but it is still very much aimed at mainstream audiences. It has a catchy repeptitive beat with a catchy repetitive chorus and in the verses he talks about pop celebrities. It might be making fun of a lot of mainstream celebrites, but dont let that fool you as that still maintains mainstream subject matter. Let me put it this way. Someone who listens to heavy underground music isnt really gonna care what em has to say about christina aguiliera and britney spears. They were reaching for the MAINSTREAM with this one and its written all over it.

Also I guess you just decided to ignore the part about Eminem himself saying that he makes pop songs in his book. Im pretty sure you dont know more about the type of music he makes than he does.

I see what you're saying and yes the plot lines are different. But it's the same story at the end of the day though. "If you mess with me woman, I'm going to beat the living shit out of you and possibly kill you" LTWYL takes a more regretful approach which is the only way I can see it being construed as a positive message.

Its a song about whats going on in the mind of a wife beater, I bet if it had a different beat/hook you would be all over it. i dunno i didnt like ems verses too much (especially the delivery) so i dont think its just the hook/beat but i dunno maybe you're right. i thought it was corny/lame, just like Not Afraid. I just hated it since the leak, so i dont think i hate it just because its popular, although hearing it everytime i turn on the radio didnt help.
