Recovery is a Powerhouse Album

Recovery wouldve been great if not for crappy collabs, beats and hooks as well as shitty songs like WTP, love the way you lie and space bound.
Plus i dont like his new voice.

I'm actually disliking Recovery more and more after several rotations. I really can't say there's too many songs I like here other than GTC, and like others say the production and hooks were godawful. Thing that actually pissed me off the most about this album was how expletive it was, too many lines were wasted with corniness that didn't contribute anything at all to the verses. Much headdesks were had while listeing to it.

I don't understand what's so great about Illmatic. In fact, I'm not even very fond of Nas.
But then again, everything is all opinion.

It gets everything right in execution but lacks originality.

I like Illmatic, and especially love a few of the tracks...

But it's definitely overrated, perhaps the most overrated in hip-hop. It's nowhere near the greatest of all-time, Nas' execution was fabulous but that's not enough to make it the GOAT album.

I've seen rap fans laugh at the suggestion that any of Em's first three come close but I think that's bullshit. People just see the acclaim and go along with it, without having their own opinion. If not, I'd like to see somebody justify to me how Illmatic is more original, creative or brilliant than The Slim Shady LP or The Marshall Mathers LP (in particular).

A single song from MMLP has more originality than the entirety of Illmatic.
