I think it will take off if they just trust the music and stop ripping people off.

Hell: The Sequel
would have been a perfect EP without "Lighters". And "Fast Lane" still did pretty well on the charts and it's pure hardcore battle-rap.

Something can be a hit these days regardless of content or structure. All that matters is melody, and if it's good. "Fast Lane" resonated for those reasons.

And, Yelawolf sold himself short with Radioactive and people felt it, that's why it didn't do well. He was trying to force commercial appeal, conform to X without fully conforming, just, a mess. He's capable of so much more and if he had just been fully him, he probably would have blew up.

If you look at Em for god's sake, I mean... The Marshall Mathers LP is the fastest selling solo LP ever. And look how little that conformed, it's the fucking polar opposite of conforming, it's an anti-conformist, anti-mainstream album. "The Way I Am" was a hit, and look at the seething, relentless nature of that track, it's HARDCORE.

It's like they think they HAVE to have a pop star or somebody singing on a hook and they HAVE to do one of five concepts now. Everybody is such a coward now, nobody is being groundbreaking.

So hopefully there's none of that bullshit with the Slaughterhouse debut.

That's obvious of course and most of us can see that but I hear so few mention it.

He always seems to get looked at as a 3rd rate producer but when you consider tracks like "The Way I Am", "8 Mile", "Renegade" and "Square Dance" etc., that's crazy.

Anyway, I look forward to the album and especially the Em feature(s) of course... also, he didn't say the track was called "Psycho", just that the track IS psycho.

Eminem is a highly rated Producer as far as actual success Hit's, sales and the fact so many different Rappers buy Beats from him. Em has won Grammy and Oscar awards for Albums and Songs he has Produced.

Superman
Mockingbird
8 Mile Road
Rock Bottom
Sing For The Moment

Yes but not by a lot of rap fans or production heads.

Whenever I've seen people discussing top producers, I never ever see him mentioned and never have, I never hear other producers mention him...

And I only ever see him dismissed as a second-tier producer etc.

When... his best beats are more original and memorable than most other hip-hop beats I ever hear. I mean think of something like "8 Mile". He crafts very catchy, original melodies and the music always sounds very rich, dark and just layered enough, stripped down but, quality.
