I'm trying to figure out what people are talking about with the "home studio" studio stuff. He owns Effigy studios in Ferndale. That's where he works.

Yeah, Em doesn't like to work in his home studio anymore. He still has a home studio, but he doesn't use it:

Eminem recorded most of "Recovery" in his new hometown studio, built in part to combat his reclusive habits during addiction. "I still have the studio at my house, but it reminds me of when I was in a really dark place," he says. "As soon as all the pills were flushed out of my system and I started seeing things clearer, going downstairs in my basement and recording creeped me out a little bit."

Eminem: I had been recording a lot of shit at home during the past few years and got real comfortable doing that. So I got a new studio and started recording there. I didn't like doing vocals and recording at that studio at first – it took me a while to break it in, but once it got broken in, I liked it better. Now I don't record at home at all any more.
