SSLP, MMLP, Devil's Night, and every feature he was on in and around this time. = one of the greatest runs in hip hop. Up there with 2 pac during his early to mid 90s reign.

The slippage started around the TES/8 Mile era, but he was still in a league of his own, just not as consistent anymore.

Since then, he's been on a decline so steep and hard that he's ruining his legacy with every new record/track he releases.

When Marshall Mathers was using drugs heavily, he was awful. The 2006-07 period was so bad.

Encore was bad, but it wasn't THAT bad. I like it way more than that era.

Em now is better than 2003-2008 imo.

Eminem on pills is what made him awful.

I'd say 2000-2003 was his peak popularity wise as well as lyrically. You had the MMLP, TES, and 8 Mile that were all huge. Not to mention he introduced D12 and 50 Cent in this time period and had numerous critically acclaimed collabs with them.
