just lyrically ? its a tough one, there overall skill level is different and i say nas takes it purely because of his creativity, now em is creative look at his videos, some of his lines, but when it comes to creative concepts nas kills him alot, eminem does stuff creativly, and has the skill to make a run of the mill track be something so much more, but just look at nas's track record (especially with metaphors, especially when i think only relapse is near nas for the metaphors on alot of tracks) rewind, fried chicken, 2nd childhood, no idea's original the list goes on.

and eminem is usually a completely different type of rapper to nas, they both can do the thought provoking song, the uplifting song, the hip hop is my life track, they both do them extremely well. they both got rhymes and flows that are amazing, em defo takes delivery though.

but overall i give it to nas, i dont think eminem could ever make an original creative concept and pull it off the way nas has over the years..BUT ill give em his dues, he could probly take a concept like rewind and do it, make it his own and it would be amazing, but no matter how good it is...its still a nas track.

To fans of Eminem. Illmatic and Stillmatic are classic's to fan's of Hip-Hop.

fans of eminem ARE fans of hip hop. In fact eminem has MORE fan's than nas, therefore he has more hip hop fans. fuck nas. I have his greatest hits cd and it's very boring.

Sac, just because you don't understand the complexity of his lyrics doesn't make him boring.

Ali Jack and hewwa- Illmatic is widely considered as the best hip hop album of all time, but I would put it in the same classic category as MMLP. However I love stillmatic, but i would call that in the category underneath Illmatic and MMLP's category, in the same category as SSLP and TES.

Nas > Eminem

It's a fact, if you disagree, stfu...

And Eminem fans are not necessarily hip hop fans. Alot of Em fans are rock fans that started to like rap due to Em. Alot of Eminem fans don't even appreciate hip hop, just Eminem.

And if you say Em is better, then that is your opinion and preference. But the likes of Jay and Nas will always be above Eminem... Eminem would agree himself.

If you think Eminem is the best, okay, you may think that.. but don't say Nas is garbage, if you don't like him just say you don't.

Nas and Jay-Z are better hip hop artists, but Eminem is alot more entertaining, you have to give him that.

Perhaps, perhaps not. It depends, I mean I like Em, I'm a fan. But I grew up on Nas' music, so I'm a Nas fan as well. They differ alot, their styles are not the same, Em may be a better entertainer.. but that doesn't make him better than Nas.

Yeah, I think Nas is lyrically better then Eminem but like you grew up on Nas, the first hip hop artist I ever listened to was Eminem, then that led my curiosity to find other hip hop artists like Nas and Jay so every rapper to me has ties back to em. Like, I could listen to Sing For the Moment 100 times in a row and not get bored with it, but I couldn't think of a Nas song I could do that with.

Exactly, it all comes down to preference. It's a matter of taste and opinion, both are great artists and great emcees.
