Just a BS term thrown around in the rap community.

Eminem doesn't have any albums considered classic by the larger hiphop community (to my knowlege). There will always be arguments about this. MMLP is generally considered his best, but it's debatable whether or not it's a true classic. All his albums have either filler material, or songs/collabs which aren't up to par.

well, I don't think you can really say what is Em's greatest album or will be. he's still making great music and sure he will release one, which's defintily better than all of 'em til now.
I mean, it changes so often, what I even think his best song is - just because there're some with great contents, some where you really can feel his heart in and some which are just musically great - so what's the most important thing?

but isn't the term "classic" should be mean, which of his album is classic rap-music? so this is the way I learned it in school. classic in art, music and literature always means perfect in form and be examplary and like a culturell peak - but he's still improving hisself how he can be better and better - and he never was that example for rap-music. at least rap-music hasn't yet a so long tradition to say something like, "yo, that's classic rap"
or is there a rule, what rap really is and how it should sound, so that you can rate "this is definitly rap - less rap - no, that's not rap at all" and don't forget all the styles rap can have nowadays.
and if someone now says, rap should sound just underground or gangsta and stuff, this is bullshit
