The Eminem Show is like a bible to some of us we still bump songs from it from time to time it was the album that got me in to Em and i really apreciate it.
but in 5 years i think we will rate Recovery over TES.

Adam Quinn wrote:Recovery is a good album but it's no where near as good as TES or MMLP. I don't care how many times he can rhyme in a line or how fast he can spit, that takes skill and I enjoy it, but that's not what makes a song good at all. Recovery is better than Relapse but it still doesn't feel like Eminem. He just doesn't have anything else left to say... At least it seems like.
I've been saying this for a year now. "It just means so much more to so much more people when you rap and you know what for"
What did Em really say on Recovery. The album is dope as fuck especially compared to Relapse and Refill but it doesn't have shit on TES or MMLP. Those will never be matched. His wit, creativity and skill was at an all time high; his prime. Those records had heart. Recovery is like a big summer action movie sequal. (Transformers 2, Iron Man 2) It's just missing something. It's missing a story and a reason. There's glimpses of Em but it still doesn't feel like Em all the way through.

Wow, Totally agree dude. Shit, call me a Stan, but in the last few days I was kinda down on myself because I was not fully appreciating this great album. It was like my brain was saying "this album is great! Emotional Em, Funny Em, Crazy Shady! It's got it all!" but my heart just didn't connect at all, it's like I was just listening to the song without feeling anything. For Christ sake, the Proof song didn't even come CLOSE to touch me at all, I actually skip it.
You know what's the real problem, under this great album? Everything sounds forced. Eminem since day one never made an album where he did songs that people wanted to hear. On this one, it's like Em thoughts were "Ok, fans want a Proof song, but I don't feel like making one, but hey people want that", "Ok, I've said in interview I'm sick of all the serious/moaning songs, but fans want that, let's give him that"
That's why from SSLP to TES it just sounded so natural. Even Relapse, although the accent was annoying, it was something that HE wanted to do. Relapse feels more natural then Recovery, BUT Recovery is a better album, does that make sense? To me it does
