The Eminem Show is like a bible to some of us we still bump songs from it from time to time it was the album that got me in to Em and i really apreciate it.

but in 5 years i think we will rate Recovery over TES.

My songs can make you cry, take you by surprise
And at the same time, make you dry your eyes with the same rhyme
See what you're seeing is a genius at work
Which to me isn't work, so it's easy to misinterpret it at first,
Cuz when i speak, it's tongue in cheek
I'd yank my fuckin teeth before id ever bite my tongue
I'd slice my gums, get struck by fuckin' lightning twice at once

guys,

we cant compare Recovery to other albums, we just got it. I remember people saying relapse was as good as TES and MMLP before it came out, now look where relapse is

and WOW you guys are sleeping on SSLP...that is probably his second best album imo, im surprised TES gets so much love, alot of people think thats when he started changing (i dont, i LOVE that album) but its obvious there is a stark difference between SSLP,MMLP and TES..

SSLP had "As the World Turns" :o
i hang out with a bunch of hippies and wacky tobacco planters, who swallow lit roaches, and light up like jack o'lanterns!!!!!!

but there is NO WAY, TES is better than MMLP..i just cant see it.

MMLP
SSLP/TES

6.RELAPSE

I never really got into the TES album apart from the say goodbye to hollywood, till I collapse, cleanin out my closet and Soldier then the rest of the songs a usually skip, for me thought nothing can match the hunger he had on the MMLP, 'The Way I am' :worship: still my Fav eminem song too date.

After more listens, yeah, Recovery is king. MMLP is still godlike because of the year it was released, but Recovery will also be a classic 10 years from now.

I would agree...maybe in a month after this album is played 500 times by me, but until then I'm still in awe of this shit.

Cause I don't give a fuck, like my middle finger was stuck
and I was wavin it at everybody screamin, "I suck" (I SUCK!!!)
I go on stage in front of a sellout crowd
and yell out loud, "All y'all get the hell out now"
Fuck rap, I'm givin it up y'all, I'm sorry
(But Eminem this is your record release party!)

dope dope dope

I decide the order of which album is the best based on how many of my all-time favorites are on each.

On SSLP:
-Brain Damage
-Role Model
-Rock Bottom
-Bad Meets Evil
-Still Don't Give a Fuck

On MMLP:
-Kill You
-The Way I Am
-Drug Ballad
-Bitch Please II > Since he's only on 1 verse, I'm counting this as half a song
-Criminal

On TES:
-White America
-Sing For The Moment
-Superman
-When The Music Stops > Again, counting as half a song
-Till I Collapse

On Relapse:
-Hello
-Stay Wide Awake
-Deja Vu
-Beautiful

On Recovery:
-Talkin' To Myself
-You're Never Over
-Seduction
-No Love
-Almost Famous

So for me it goes:

SSLP/Recovery - Tie for best
MMLP/TES - Tie for 3rd best
Relapse - 5th
Encore - is not on my computer so I didn't make a list for it haha, but there were 3-4 of my favorite tracks on it
And Re-Up has none of my favorites.

Also, Recovery may have more all-time favorites, I'm just iffy about putting it at the top of the list haha

Adam Quinn wrote:Recovery is a good album but it's no where near as good as TES or MMLP. I don't care how many times he can rhyme in a line or how fast he can spit, that takes skill and I enjoy it, but that's not what makes a song good at all. Recovery is better than Relapse but it still doesn't feel like Eminem. He just doesn't have anything else left to say... At least it seems like.

I've been saying this for a year now. "It just means so much more to so much more people when you rap and you know what for"

What did Em really say on Recovery. The album is dope as fuck especially compared to Relapse and Refill but it doesn't have shit on TES or MMLP. Those will never be matched. His wit, creativity and skill was at an all time high; his prime. Those records had heart. Recovery is like a big summer action movie sequal. (Transformers 2, Iron Man 2) It's just missing something. It's missing a story and a reason. There's glimpses of Em but it still doesn't feel like Em all the way through.

Wow, Totally agree dude. Shit, call me a Stan, but in the last few days I was kinda down on myself because I was not fully appreciating this great album. It was like my brain was saying "this album is great! Emotional Em, Funny Em, Crazy Shady! It's got it all!" but my heart just didn't connect at all, it's like I was just listening to the song without feeling anything. For Christ sake, the Proof song didn't even come CLOSE to touch me at all, I actually skip it.

You know what's the real problem, under this great album? Everything sounds forced. Eminem since day one never made an album where he did songs that people wanted to hear. On this one, it's like Em thoughts were "Ok, fans want a Proof song, but I don't feel like making one, but hey people want that", "Ok, I've said in interview I'm sick of all the serious/moaning songs, but fans want that, let's give him that"

That's why from SSLP to TES it just sounded so natural. Even Relapse, although the accent was annoying, it was something that HE wanted to do. Relapse feels more natural then Recovery, BUT Recovery is a better album, does that make sense? To me it does
