Can someone explain Space Bound please?

Why would em be talking about a girl thats not his nature to make all love songs. i think the only love song is love the way you lie. but i think em twists alot of songs. space bound seems to be about the love he has for drugs and he is just twisting it to make it seem like a love song. and seduction seems its about haters and how girls want him more then his haters and also about hip hop. but i wish em would explain it.

Anyways, I believe Space Bound is about drugs. That's what I think of when I look at it but I more so believe that the song doesn't have a specific object that it's about...I think it's about what the listener wants to interpret it as.

The look up in the sky doesn't fit, I admit. But the other part definitely works, saying he wants to kill the addiction.

as much as i thought it was a girl at first, im leaning more towards drugs now..

first verse the clutching part is definitely about pills and the introduction of the addiction, it wasnt much at first but it was enough to spark his interest/curiousity..i mean to all you "love experts", i understand it could be about love but drugs just fit the description much better

You don't 'clutch' another person. What things do you clutch in your palm, though? Loose change, sunflower seeds...and...um...PILLZ. "It's enough to make me wonder" refers to being introduced to the drugs in small amounts in the first place, which piqued his interest (so to speak). The start of any addiction is a positive experience which leads to more experimentation.

it was his choice to take the drugs..hes taking full responsibilty. in some of his interviews he said the toughest thing to do was accepting he had a problem and not just blame everyone..and also last year he blamed he mother for his addiction. maybe this is him going back on that?

the song can be interpreted as drugs or a girl but i just think drugs make more sense..and its more meaningful too if it is cause its something he suffered through, because its def not about kim so itd be about random girl lol. i highly doubt this is just another "stan" song..too much emotion in thiss

"And before I put that gun to my temple, I told you this" and we know that Ronny killed himself with a gunshot for a some girl who dumb him right???? You know i'm saying!!! Why can't it be about drugs? It makes a lot of sense, if you really listen to the song, with it in your mind that it is about drugs. You have to open your mind, Em's using personification to make the drugs seem like they're a woman that he's in love with. The first and second verse are from Em's perspective, both verses cast doubt about the drugs, yet he still wants them. Then I think the third verse is from the drug's perspective, it really does make a whole lotta sense. At the end of the third verse, the drugs are trying to kill him by "stopping him from breathing", and then the drugs kinda commits suicide, since that was basically when he decided to stop taking them, when he just about died.

It can be interpreted any way though. It could very well be about a woman, both sides of the argument makes sense. I just think Space Bound and 25 To Life are both songs that seem like they're about women, but they're really about his two addictions in life: drugs and hip-hop. Only with 25 To Life, it is without a doubt about hip-hop, SB is open for interpretation. I used to not like Space Bound that much, mainly do to the chorus, but analyzing it from this perspective makes it a lot better for me. I think Em meant to do this, it makes the album a lot better if you sit down and analyze what each song is truly about. The name "Recovery" makes sense even more with these two songs. SB: Recovery from drugs. 25TL: "Recovery" from hip-hop doubting him all these years

It's good to think outside the box sometimes. Of course, I could be reading too much into this and SB could really just be about a woman, but the whole concept of Recovery makes more sense if you look at SB being about drugs
