I'm interested to see this video and if/how it elevates it, and what it'll be like due to it being Spike Lee.

But due to the legacy of ''Stan'' and it being such a pillar of MMLP and MMLP2 can't really exist without a sequel of some-kind... I just think to have to video for it will be kind of a bummer on the era.

Especially due to how fucking epic ''Stan'' video is.

I get a really they're not going to do it though, but really hope they are saving it till last, which would make sense.

But that would mean... 6 videos? Which seems quite unlikely. But then again it would have seemed (to many of us) damn-near impossible he would make MMLP2 or do a 2-part-song epic sequel to ''Stan'' or a 6 minute song on non-stop mind-blowing rapping - released as a main single. Also would have seemed stupidly unlikely that he'd work with Rick Rubin or do a Beastie Boys homage stonking madhouse 1st single.

But so far these videos have been top-tier shit and some of Em's best. There's a higher level of care in my opinion... it's like he really tried (even though he still did with some shit) not to stick to the same formulas for everything this time, like 'yep, here's another vid' kinda thing. Feels like everything was laboured over a lot more... ''Berzerk'' and ''Rap God'' videos are both amaznig and deserve praise on visual elements alone.

So a fucking ''Bad Guy'' vid with some kind of manic, nightmare-esque vibe as Em intended the concept to be... with fucking Aaron Paul as Matthew (literally fucking born to be him) shouting ''IT'S JUST YOU ME AND THE MUSIC NOW SLIM!'' in his frantic Breaking Bad-esque dramatic flair... and then the end sequence of maybe Em's face somehow fucking melting or floating in some fucked up way with a barrage of protesters and flashbacks flying by and shit... it could literally be a masterpiece and end this album era with a hell of a bang.

Imagining the video just reveals how much better Stan is, though.

Imagine Matthew lip-synching the choppy, uneven flow Eminem has in that car scene. Not to mention some of the awkward phrasing. "No license, I fear."

This. So much this. I don't think Bad Guy is half bad but its a microcosm of what the fuck Stan is on the mic. The phrasing with the stuff like "reached my full potential, I peaked" ruins the immersion of song. "Stan" was smart because it sounded like actual people talking, and idea of the story being told through letters allowed for an actual reason for the story to told through narration. Bad Guy is Matthew narrating (in his head?) in a weird "rapper" sorta way, using random metaphor and flow styles. It makes less sense to me since it doesn't feel like a real person like stan did. Stuff like "And the way you played him, same shit you did to me- COLD!-Have you any idea the-(massive gap)- shit that I've gone through?" just as an example. Sounds cool in rapping but doesn't sound a real person talking. Just sounds like Em. Plus (this is a personal thing), I would have really liked it if when he kidnaps Eminem since the story is being told in real-time unlike the letters in stan (minus the 3rd verse), there was a back and forth between the two like eminem pleading for his life or something. He kind of just sees him and boop hes in the trunk. No resistance. But thats just a personal thing :P

That being saaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiiiiiidddd, the 4th verse is my favorite on all of MMLP2.
...the only problem was, my english teacher was a guy...

StayWideAwake wrote:I think Stan is easier to do in general just because of the set up. There isn't all that much to it if you think about it. Aside from the one section when he's driving, all of the content is in them writing the letters, with some extra little scenes for dramatization. In Bad Guy, everything is happening as a movie. You would actually have to portray Matthew driving in that car, sneaking around Em's house, going in to grab him and put him in the trunk...so on, as a continuous shot. All of the lines are the scenes, instead of scenes being added to portray parts of the letter.

Would be dope
4th verse woukd have to be removed or a new concept must be developed just for that though

This song would be medicore without 4th verse. Anyone who's talking or even thinking about removing 4th verse is out of his mind.

Don't see why it couldn't just veer off into a nightmarish sequence for that verse. It would still make sense given what happens at the end of the 3rd verse, no?

it would be so good dude i'm gonna kick the shit out of my neighbors dog if there's an official statement that there will be no video. interscope's gonna have one sad corgy on their hands if they don't make this happen.

I'm starting to think maybe they will release this on mothers day next week. Would be a smart move. Hopefully.....how long have we waited so far?
