^That could be interpreted as some ones wife getting jealous when you spend time with other girls, but it is actually a metaphor for hip hop taking time away that he wants to spend with his daughters. Brilliant.

Despite the fact that I hate the song, I will admit this line provided a nice double meaning.

The opening few bars are fantastic, if he could have kept that up the song would have been close to a classic. sacrifices that I've made/acted right I would have stayed/half my life I would have laid

Another one of my favorite metaphors is in Cinderalla man...."My potatoes are baked homie, the veggies on my plate can fly, my filet is smoking weed, ya faggot the steaks are high".

Potatoes can actually be baked, but baked is another word for getting high. And the steaks are high also refers to getting high, but it also means "the stakes are high" at the same time.

It is kind of random, but one of the cleverest metaphors and one of my favorite lines ever.

I still say that song is a classic. A definite highlight of the album, outshines GTC by a mile, but nobody sees it
