While i agree written down, your part looks better, they are both funny. If the former gets "best response" title and double laughter emoticons and the latter get facepalms and "worst punchline" title then it falls in the hate category. The only excuse for Eminem not to use it was because it would be "predictable." Unless you're a practitioning rapper, it certainly didn't sound cliche in context.

Technical standpoint it's average.
Creative standpoint it's unoriginal as so many rappers do the whole "die hard" thing.
It's also unfunny, I didn't laugh, I wasn't impressed. I thought it was horrible.

It would have been different if he said "I die hard like Bruce Willis", that would have been lame. I remember him saying "die hard like Bruce Willis" in a freestyle from like '99 and he follows it up with "I hate when rappers say that".

Since funny is a subjective word, the only way to assess whether it was or wasnt is to ask around. Currently, on this forum at least, it certainly is considered amusing.
