SSLP - it was too perfect in every way
MMLP - The concepts were too creative, and the flow was too precise
TES - Some of the lyrics had rhyme schemes that were too complex and intricate

LMAO!!!!

You living in a fantasy world if you think those were the worldwide reactions to those albums, SMH

Just cause you liked them better isnt relevant to the point, there have always been a large number of people shitting on what he does

Those people aren't Eminem fans, though.

OK, there was maybe a SMALL percentage of people who thought he "sold out" with MMLP or TES, as there is with any underground artist once they hit mainstream, but the reaction to the atrocity that was Encore was completely fair. The less intuitive fans knew it sucked but didn't know why...so they just postulated, "hey, maybe I out-grew Eminemz!!!111"

The smarter ones basically gave up on him and wondered what was wrong...because SOMETHING was wrong.

Whats an Eminem fan exactly??

I know people who love his serious shit, and hate his funny shit, others who hated his songs dissing his mother but love the Duet he did with Rhianna, some who liked Lose Yourself, others who prefer 3 A.M, etc etc

I never said I didnt agree with some of the criticisms, just acknowledging that they've been equally as present in every stage of his career, starting from his very first single that hit TV all the way up to the latest song leak, and I've heard the "He needs to go back to his roots" argument since his first album dropped, and I was online hearing people say "Man, this underground ininite album is great, he shoulda never sold out and did that clown show My Name is shit"

An Eminem fan is someone who was a fan of his when he was himself, not a pill popping, alcohol-guzzling oompa loompa.

Again, anyone who said those things you mentioned back in those days was just accusing him of "selling out." That's it. Other than that, the people that bashed him were those who just flat-out "hate rap" (most of those people haven't listened to enough of it to even form an actual opinion on it) and assured the world he was "talentless" because he "doesn't play his own instruments." That's it.

Those who liked the actual Eminem never complained about any of the things you are talking about on his first 3 albums. The "oompa loompa" era fans are the only ones who retroactively go back and make the criticisms you are referring to. Those are the fans who know nothing about rap/lyrical skill and execution.

I would take the accent over the yelling, even though a lot of people on here are obsessed with the fucking accent, I'm not.

Amadeo wrote:Are you fucking serious? Let me do the REAL run-down:

Cold Wind Blows - yelling
Talkin' 2 Myself - borders on yelling, but no
On Fire - borders on yelling, but no
Won't Back Down - yelling
W.T.P. - no yelling, but definitely yells in third verse
Going Through Changes - no yelling
Not Afraid - yelling
Seduction - yelling
No Love - yelling in his verse
Space Bound - borders on yelling, definitely yells in the third verse
Cinderella Man - yelling
25 to Life - yelling
So Bad - borders on yelling, not quite
Almost Famous - yelling
Love The Way You Lie - yelling
You're Never Over - yelling in 2nd verse
Untitled - yelling

That's 11 tracks where he yells throughout. :facepalm

Will you please listen to the album again because I could name alot of those songs that you mentioned where he doesn't yell. Do you even know what that word means? Just because he doesn't use a smooth flow that doesn't count as yelling. And some of the songs you mentioned he yells with emotion and that isn't a bad thing but if you think it is then you must not have liked stan and kim.
Cold wind blows no exactly yelling, love the way you lie slightly yelling with emotion, untitled no yelling, no love no yelling, not afraid slightly yelling with emotion on the third verse, 25 to life yelling with emotion, space bound yelling with emotion on the third verse.

Exactly my thoughts

Just because I wasn't a fan when he first came out, doesn't mean I'm not a fan lol. I didn't even hear Eminem's name until 8 Mile, to tell you the truth, but at the time I wasn't into hip hop so I never checked his music out. It wasn't until 07 that I became a fan, so by that logic it means that since I started to become a fan while he was on pills, I'm not a real Em fan

Am I fucking serious? YEAH! I'm fucking serious! Are you fucking serious?

Nah! but seriously, I know you dislike Recovery Amadeo but, that doesn't mean you should blame it on non-existent YELLIN'! & you know I'm right.

Also, I'm Sorry if I sound a tad pretentious. BUT HAI! you're no stranger to that now are ya?

So go ahead & face-palm as hard as you can. You won't hurt me buddy, you'll only hurt yourself.

Then, you must have the Volume at a ridiculous level or you simply have no idea what YELLIN' is. Just like I've no idea what-the-hell you mean by his outside voice?

Coming from a longtime fan I can give you a list of things people have bitched about thru em's career:

SSLP - Annoying High Pitched voice, Not enough serious content, Bleach Blonde Hair, Alternative Image
MMLP - Shock Value content, Dissing Pop Stars
TES - Self Produced beats, Emotional songs where he "Cries too much"
ENC - Childish Content, Fake Tough Guy Act
REL - Accents, Recycled Shock Content
REC - Yelling, working with Pop Stars, Corny Punchlines

Nothing dude did was ever good enogh to keep people from bitching, and nothing ever will be, next year when he does summin diffrent, people will crawl out the woodworks to bitch about it and remember "The Good Times when Em put emotion in his Voice" and do their lil "Recovery > New Album" bullshit
