Better song, 25 to Life or Underground

Underground is one of the best songs on Relapse, but I'm with 25 To Life. A better theme, a deeper and more relevant song.

I made a song this morning about taking a shit. About the great feeling you get when the shit is just about right in terms of shape and consistency, and about that shitty (yes I incorporated some wordplay to make it even better) feeling you get when the shit is just.. wrong.... and when you wipe your ass you never seem to get completely clean and you have fecal matter stuck in your ass hair and you get shit on your fingers and you realize that it's going to be a horrible day. I'm sure all of you can relate to that.

It's not a masterpiece, I admit it, but it's at least better than Underground.

yes cause eminem is being considered as one of the best rappers to have ever existed.

having good multies whiles being able to tell a grasping and vivid story is crucial to this aspect. sure, raw emotion is up there to but I know what I'd rather pick. luckily for me eminem does both of them most of the time. or at least in the 1999 - 2003 era.

underground was paying tribute to the old slimshady character by adding random things to the mix

and ow yeah, just blaze did a horrible job on the beat to. the chorus is good tho.

the punchlines are better
the voice is better
the lyrics are better

* 25 To Life isn't a punchline song, and Underground's punchlines are pathetic, I'd rather take a Recovery punchline that actually makes sense than any of Underground's nonsensical ones any day

* Lyrics are not better, you must be confusing lyricism (which is the actual content) with rhymes, because Underground's LYRICS are fucking horrible. The rhymes are decent enough

yes best lyrics for me, and I'm not talking about lyricism, but of words, because I search a little to understand the song, I had to analyze it, go to websites that give some explanations, because as English is not my native language it's even harder to understand the meaning of expressions and metaphors.

His stay in rehab and how he talks about it, I liked, and yet at first I didn't like this song.
For 25 to Life, it was much simpler to understand for me and I'm not saying I hate this song, but I find it less powerful, that's what I feel...

What the hell are people on about?! Underground is about nothing?!

Underground is 100x more creative than the shitty concept of 25 To Life that took Eminem all of 2 mins to think off - Common did in 1994 for fucks sake.

Underground is him rapping as an underground artist - full of random spitting for the sake of it (see: Hip Hop Shop days) intertwined with clever bits of storytelling which link up nicely. Sounds like Almost Famous, right? A concept that's plauded the fuck out of.

Eminem as an underground artist calling for Dre to sign him:
"Dre, I'm down here under the ground, pick me up"


Eminem finding the Slim Shady persona (he thought of Shady on the toilet didnt he? Close enough) after all that random spitting:
"Slim Shady, shit sounds like a fable to me/Until he jumps out of the fucking toilet when you're taking a pee."

Coming back up from the "underground" i.e. from his hiatus. Simple double meaning. Using the title in two ways:

Glad bags, yeah glad to be back, cause last year was a tragedy
That landed me smack dead in rehab
Fucking doctor, I didn't understand a damn that he said
I planned to relapse the second I walked out of that bitch
Two weeks in brighton, I ain't enlightened

Summing up the crazy random theme of the album:
That means is just a regular day/ and this is the kind of shit I think of a regular lay

Pretty self explanatory:
Tell the critics I'm back and coming/to spit it back in abundance

Then the rest of the verse is more random spitting, attacking horror characters, that he starts in the previous verse and is the theme that he uses throughout the song. Didn't he get addicted to watching horror films when he got clean? Makese sense.

Underground is the PERFECT song to end Relapse as it sums up the album in many ways: using seemingly random violence/serial killing as a veil for his drug problems. As hiphopdane says Em said before that he uses the last track to sum up the album and this is no exception.
