But then I remembered the one you are all forgetting...
My first single? Puke? Sure, not up to snuff when placing them in contrast to the rest of his discography...
But the worst hook he has EVER done... it has got to be ''Big Weenie.''
The hook for ''Big Weenie'' is probably the worse than any of the other hooks from the worst songs of Encore... as well as any of the verses.
In fact, the hook for ''Big Weenie'' has got to be the worst thing Eminem has ever done.
My first single... It's not such a bad song to be honest... what makes it seem terrible is that it is the perfect representation of what is wrong with encore... but the lyricism (regardless of the shitty subject matter... that's another topic altogether...) is pretty fucking sick. In fact... My first single is one of the best songs on Encore in regards to rhyming and FLOW. The hook is creative... it shouldn't be filler... and it wouldn't be filler if it weren't for the other silly songs on the album. If my first single were the only song on the album with the goofy concept... it wouldn't be recognized as such a bad song because it wouldn't be associated with the pool of mediocrity that took 3-4 other songs to supply the luke-warm water for.
Puke... same thing. Puke is an interesting concept too. It's basically a ''Fuck you... I'm not even trying. I'm puking this out... I can write a song of freestyle quality... if even that and you will buy it and love it because I'm awesome.'' It has attitude.
You can tell that this is what he was trying to convey throughout the collective entirety of the goofy songs on Encore... but he expected people to get what he was doing. He even says it straight up in ''Ass like that.''
''I can say whatever I want and you will love it.''
To be honest... Encore does capture the essence of the Slim Shady everyone knows and loves... they just don't realize it.
That whole album is a ''Fuck you... look at what you are paying me for. LOL. Poo-poo cawk ca!''
That truly is the Eminem that doesn't give a fuck what YOU like. He's proven that he is the best already... and now he's going to make you pay for an album filled with the most awful & ridiculous subject matter ever known to an album from a legendary rapper... but he's so good at flowing you will buy it anyways.
This flew over everyone's heads and it IS Eminem's fault rather than those whose heads it went over because he shouldn't have expected everyone to analyze it beyond ''this is goofy and stupid.'' I still appreciate it though.
That being said... ''Big Weenie'' is too much.
It's terrible.
I'm sure he's doing it on purpose like I said about the other stupid songs on that album... but it doesn't matter... he should have stuck with 1-2 songs to promote this concept and not 4-5. Big Weenie is just taking it too far. A ''meanie''... ''THIS will show them that I'm not even trying here in case they didn't get what I'm doing already with puke, rain man, my first single, just lose it... and if this doesn't... ass like that will!''
Although I guess you could argue that the more songs he did like this, the stronger his ''fuck you, you will buy this and love it'' message would be... and it truly is hilarious. That IS what he's doing. It's not like he thought ''Hmm... a ''meanie''... this totally isn't self deprecating and a representation of me not even trying because of how little I care about what the whole world thinks of me.''
But still.
''Big Weenie'' fucking sucks.
It's an insult to his fans. It's funny at one degree. At this degree... it truly is an insult to us. He's rubbing it in how little he's trying while knowing how desperately we want to hear what he has to say... hard. It's awful. Yet he knew people would defend the album... say the songs were dope... he even included the sound effects of him taking a shit beside the mic in these songs... puking... farting... basically saying ''Fuck you... enjoy.''
And everyone did. No one had the balls to speak up about it (aside from literally less than 1/10 hardcore fans) until it was universally accepted that encore was subpar. He knew what he was doing... opiates and benzos change your personality in a manner in which you TRULY do not give a fuck what people think.
It happened to me anyways. When i was on methadone + clonazepam I posted all sorts of shit on facebook... ridiculous stuff that I KNEW would make me look stupid. I didn't care because I thought it was funny seeing people react. Coming off of all of it... Depression and anxiety hit me hard. It was like waking up from a 3 year tequila buzz. I truly DID NOT GIVE A FUCK if every person I knew (mostly) saw me writing a bunch of fucked up shit for laughs at their reactions.
This was the true Eminem that didn't give a fuck. If SSLP Eminem really didn't give a fuck then SSLP wouldn't have been as good as it was.
