Poor mixing/mastering is one.
The difference between "The Way I Am" "yelling" and all of Recovery's yelling is the mixing, I think. With "The Way I Am" you can tell he's "yelling" but he's not actually louder. All the volume levels are the same as other tracks, but you get the feel that he's yelling and angry. Very easy on the ears. On Recovery his voice volume was increased to "enhance" the yell to be like "HEY I'M YELLING." It's jarring and gets annoying fast, in my opinion.
Not to mention almost every beat on Recovery (if not every beat period) sounded like shit because it sounded like he downloaded the lo-fi off soundclick. Kicks were mushy, snares were either weak or so high on the treble (like his elevated voice volume) that your ears bled. Plus here lately he's been favoring beats that sound busy as hell with way to much going on.
Second fear... him explaining himself all the time. seriously it's not necessary. you're not even that complex anymore. "just tryna get you alone (car note)" would have been great, actually, if he hadn't explained the joke buy adding "car note" to the line. That's the shit that Cash Money does and it needs to stop. I get that it just happened to rhyme in this case, but my point still stands. Then on "Welcome To Hell" he goes on for several lines describing his Die Hard joke, only to tell you what he meant at the end, which you already knew. I think the only time his explaining actually worked in his benefit was in his "no heir to the throne" line from "Despicable"
