Outside of the states, Em is pretty much the first rapper that everyone knew and listened to, in the other way, Em introduced them to hip-hop, I'll not be surprised if the majority of this board knew about Em and got into hip-hop after that.
and no offense if Pac was everywhere in rap magazines, but Em was everywhere in EVERY magazines, not just rap magazines, in like every countries too. I hate to say it but lots of people see him as "popstar", that's why his music is more everywhere than Pac, he has fans that don't even like hip-hop.

Fuck it, NO RAPPER has ever came close to Em's popularity at his peak, that's all. Don't bring Jay-Z or Wayne here, they're all LOCAL act and can't sell shit outside US. Jay-Z sold 14k of BP3 outside the states in first week and Wayne did like 50k outside the states in total, that should explain all.

P/ZS: that's my "commercial" view

Alright, Stan, I surrender. Eminem is more pop than any rapper ever. :y:

u should cuz he IS

i traveled to vietnam last summer, not like its such a big and influential country but dude, i heard them playing Em's records in their coffee shop and when The real slim shady came on, ppl were like OHHHH Eminem!.. yeah, half way around the world and they're still pumping his old shit and even sang to it..well, the chorus mostly.. and i didnt feel like a foreigner right then lol but thats besides the point.. nvm just wanted to share :b:

no offense dude, but calling people a stan for saying eminem's the most famous rapper (which is pretty much true) is pretty retarded.

You don't have to be Stan to know he's the most popular rapper ever cuz it's nothing but the truth. Get over it.

Relapse LP can shove a dick down his tonsils; i dont give a fuck how much that under 18 year old trifling thinks he knows about hip-hop: always going on about how he listens all the great hip-hop acts not just Em (oh please like youre the only one?) You're getting very tired and boring dude find a new MO I can see right through you. Btw: i already picked up from your first few posts that you are a self-conscious Em fan so why do you need to keep reminding us?

Look at these kids getting worked up over other's people opinions. smfh.

1. I know more hip-hop about you, apparently, from what you just said.

2. If I'm so boring, don't even bother replying to me, idiot.

3. I'm not 18-years old.

4. If you truly think I'm a Stan, then you shouldn't take offense to my comments.

Fail. Flaming won't get you anywhere here. Many have insulted me, but like I give a fuck? It's the internet, for goddamn's sake. If you want to get pissed at someone, grow the balls to flame in real life, not over some e-place where you can act like you're tough. :n:

So try me with your immense hip-hop knowledge then. I copped Midnight Marauders the day it was released, dude. I've been listening for a while, probably longer than you have.

Not trying to brag, but I'm older than you, probably, so no point in arguing, or at least you haven't listened to the genre for more than 13 years.

What do you want me to try? tbh I am a fan of technically amazing rappers; its always been about the presentation more than the lyrical content for me. I'm actually not into that old school shit and my list is according to skill not necesserily discogrpahies or bodies of work (ie Biggie and Big L)

My list
1) Eminem
2) Big L
3) Nas
4) Biggie
5) Game

It's all good; no need to e-beef with anyone here. Just accept each other's opinions and move on. :y:

And I don't judge a rapper just by how dope his "punchlines" are like Big L and Canibus, but actually what he says and how he says it.

I'll make my list later; it's late. :smoking:

The problem with Eminem these days is...AND HERE WE GO...he's not giving the people what they want.

Like... the accent and puppet dog voice. Who the FUCK wants to hear Eminem rap in that voice? Fine, if it did it once or twice for an album...just to "mix it up"...whatever. But it's 2009. He did it with Encore, then comes back FIVE years later with the same thing. His refusal to let that go is an insult and an embarrassment.

Wayne, Jay...despite what anyone thinks of them as artists -- they are dropping material that "people" want to hear. Even if it is considered garbage by some...I respect that a thousand times more than someone like Em who isn't giving the fans who stuck with him something back (at Em's standards...which might change with Relapse 2).
