50 Cent ft Dre & Alicia Keys - New Day

It's not trash, but it's not great either. It's a very very average song. Seriously, if 50 fans think that's great hip-hop, I dunno what planet they're on. People can appreciate what 50 does without having to think he's one of the best. I enjoy his music, but there's no way I consider him as a lyrical genius. Same with a lot of rappers.. So, if you like the hook, you like Alicia Keys' music, or Adam Levine's music, or the producer's music. Because 50 has nothing to do with that, all he does is rap, so if his lyrics or raps aren't great, what's the point. Whatever, we'll see what "My Life" is like anyway.

Yeah. I like Alicia Keys' Music and Adam's Levine. "All he does is rap" that's what a rapper is about. Some rappers took it further and started producing their own stuff, but a rapper's job is to rap. To write his own stuff and rap.. That's how I see it.

He's like the last "gangsta" rapper but he knows that nobody cares about gangsta rap anymore, so he's trying to fit in. That's true. However, I love his voice and his hooks/bridges when he does them. Like on some songs on his last mixtapes.

Plus recently, he's trying to switch his flow and started rapping with a double time flow which suits him pretty well. I mean 50 Cent is just a rapper, he's not a producer, he doesn't arrange shit. That's a fact. But the final product sounds good to me, so props to the engineers and stuff. I don't expect a rapper to produce, arrange his own stuff. I expect him to rap about what he wants to rap.. But it's always better when he can do everything,like, let's say Kanye, does.
