Amadeo wrote:Also, EminemBase doesn't even believe what he's arguing. He's already admitted Eminem is following trends:

EminemBase wrote:He's said himself recently he watched the game and has been trying to 'adapt' to it. THAT is what's ruining him. Him trying to spit Wayne / Drake like punchlines and be relevant for its own sake etc. They don't even sound good doing it, that's why they're awful.

EminemBase wrote:He ironically contradicts himself all the time too. Like on "Talkin' 2 Myself" he says "Quit worrying about what they do and do Shady" yet doesn't live by that MO even now. As what's he trying to do? mould his fucking sound, he IS worrying about what 'they' do.

Actually you're still missing the entire point of my argument.

My response still stands, and I also stand by those quotes of mine you dug up. Those quotes are my personal opinion on why I THINK that he's going downhill.

Like I said, that doesn't mean HE DOESN'T LIKE IT. It's just my perspective as a fan, but I can't just assume that because I think it's shit he does. So, again, that's a different discussion. That's a discussion of taste, which isn't what we're on about here.

And your Kanye response was just... :facepalm2

I used to think you were actually worth debating, despite our personal differences but after seeing that response you really just... don't get things properly. Fucking waste of time.

Only guy I've seen on here to truly get things on a real level, a coherent level of intelligence and see artists / people for what they are, to read intentions for what they are etc. is AbramIsaac. Maybe one or two others, so few though. So many fucking idiots here. I'm out.

Amadeo and EmBase have different concepts of what mainstream is and until they agree on one, the discussion/argument is pointless.

BTW: Amadeo, isn't integral also the adj. that corresponds with integrity?

People are throwing around the word "Mainstream" like it's the worst possible thing a song could be. Mainstream isn't inherently bad. To me mainstream just means means that it is popular with the masses, as opposed to underground which is not as well known. Just because a song is known by a lot of people and "mainstream" doesn't make it a bad song.

Songs like 25 to Life, Spacebound and No Love are all very mainstream songs that are catchy, and loved by a lot of people. But they're still good songs and Em in no way compromises anything artistically to make them more appealing. That's how mainstream tracks get a bad rep, when artists dumb down their music to make it more appealing to the masses. If an artists is mainstream just because they're good, and doesn't dumb down their music at all than good for them! I'm glad their popular.

Like it or not Em is a mainstream rapper. That's no reflection on him as an artist, just a fact.

this is going to be such a big disappointment. Eminembase posts his weekly roundup which is basically just 1 line of what the news was followed by 10+ paragraphs of his opinions. Then when people disagree with one of the 50+ opinions he has jammed into the post, this whole thread becomes an argument.

Eminembase, this seems like a good idea, and you are definitely the person with enough opinions and time on your hands to do it, but for the sake of these weekly roundups, check your ego please. Otherwise these will all be arguments. Learn how to respect other people's opinions and say something to neutralize the incident. Not escalate it as you usually do. Check your ego at the login screen.

Or, how about I just don't do them?

I was asked to do this by the admin. I've got no fucking ego input here turd, but I've got as much right to argue my point as have people theirs. It's a fucking debate, live with it.

But if I'm going to have annoying fucks like you post bullshit responses like this non-stop, it's not worth it. I get nothing from it anyway, I'll save it all for my site, idiot.

And stop speaking like you're giving a lecture, you fucking retard.

And Eminembase just goes to prove the point made above by debating it in the most egotistical way possible. :facepalm By the time some comes of this thread, they will not remember you "dug-up" info, Eminem's grammys or even the second article but will pick up a dictionary to determine what Mainstream is. Honestly.... KaRtLiDgE is right

And what's wrong with that? Did you seriously expect it to be a post from EmBase and replies simply saying "great read :y: "? If you simply wanted the weekly round-up, read the OP and move on; No one asked you to read the rest of the thread.
