25 to Life is the better song.

Still, this topic is comparing apples to oranges.

People, what fruit do you prefer, apples or oranges?

Underground is 100x more creative than the shitty concept of 25 To Life that took Eminem all of 2 mins to think off - Common did in 1994 for fucks sake.

Underground is him rapping as an underground artist - full of random spitting for the sake of it (see: Hip Hop Shop days) intertwined with clever bits of storytelling which link up nicely. Sounds like Almost Famous, right? A concept that's plauded the fuck out of.

Eminem as an underground artist calling for Dre to sign him:
"Dre, I'm down here under the ground, pick me up"

Eminem finding the Slim Shady persona (he thought of Shady on the toilet didnt he? Close enough) after all that random spitting:
"Slim Shady, shit sounds like a fable to me/Until he jumps out of the fucking toilet when you're taking a pee."

Coming back up from the "underground" i.e. from his hiatus. Simple double meaning. Using the title in two ways:

Glad bags, yeah glad to be back, cause last year was a tragedy
That landed me smack dead in rehab
Fucking doctor, I didn't understand a damn that he said
I planned to relapse the second I walked out of that bitch
Two weeks in brighton, I ain't enlightened

Summing up the crazy random theme of the album:
That means is just a regular day/ and this is the kind of shit I think of a regular lay

Pretty self explanatory:
Tell the critics I'm back and coming/to spit it back in abundance

Then the rest of the verse is more random spitting, attacking horror characters, that he starts in the previous verse and is the theme that he uses throughout the song. Didn't he get addicted to watching horror films when he got clean? Makese sense.

Underground is the PERFECT song to end Relapse as it sums up the album in many ways: using seemingly random violence/serial killing as a veil for his drug problems. As hiphopdane says Em said before that he uses the last track to sum up the album and this is no exception.

damn man, gotta give props :y:

that shady jumps out the toilet connection totally went over my head, nice
the greatest is hated

25 TO LIFE FTW !!!!!!

Agreed. 25 to Life is a way better song and it isn't close. I'd take the hook alone over Underground. The double meaning throughout the song, is pretty impressive as well. It isn't Renegade lyrically, but it's good enough in that regard.

Apples. If only because it's less work than peeling an orange peel.

So, Em raps about nothing on Underground (random spitting, as you put it), you like it, and yet people are criticizing him for doing it NOW for BME? When his new rhymes make more sense than the ones in Underground? And don't pretend like Em is even completely random now, because he's not, judging from the snippets there are gonna be concepts. Even I'm On Everything isn't as random as Underground, and has more of a point.

Came back to annihilate, the game's in dire straights, as I await
Word on Satan, as I drop, fall to my knees before this Quija board and I pray
Now I lay me down to sleep
I do this shit in my sleep, I’m sleepin' now, imagine if I awake

M-Pyre wrote:lol, underground of course. 25 to life was horribly executed.

no multies what so ever and half way through the song I already knew what he was talking about.

"go marry someone else and make em famous"

yeah... like kim made him famous

horrible song !

lul, way to make yourself look like a complete imbecile. Do you believe that if Kim were to marry someone else right now that it wouldn't be on the news? You don't think that millions of people would hear the name of the groom?

You sure do execute a fantastic job of backing up your points.. lol.

The thing that makes 25 to life even MORE brilliant than what people think it's brilliant for.. I think it's a song that's supposed to sound like it's about kim, but then surprise you when you find out that it's about hip hop.. but when Kim hears it she'll know he's talking about her, even though he's not legally allowed to mention her in any songs, so basically he thought of an analogy for everything he wanted to say to her that could correspond with something in the hip hop scene.

Your opinion is shit. There's no debating "Everyone has an opinion.." No. Your opinion sucks, and although this is my first post on this site and you probably don't care.. "Looks at the site I'm on..", sorry. You probably "Just don't give a fuck", but I will not respect any text that is a result of your fingers you ignorant sub-human mongrel.
