Not me :flower:

I went about it logically and calmly. And his arguement was that you could "debate who was the better of Em and Budden/Joell Ortiz/Lupe Fiasco..

He failed :worship:

First of all, he isn't trying yo come up with another pump it up. He is trying to leave that shit behind.

never mind any true lyrical shit on Padded Room.

Have you even listened to that album? The concept is amazing, each single song connects with the other. And about that ''true lyrical'' shit, there is plenty of it. Wordplay, methaphors you name it and it's in it.
If you haven't noticed, then I recommend you to re-listen that album.

As far as Lupe, he has a nice flow, but he doesn't even use multi's. It's simple lyricism, but just said with great delivery so it sounds more technical.

So to you the meaning of ''lyricism'' is multi's? If you really think that, then you don't know shit about lyricism. Lupe's wordplay and methaphors are lightyears ahead of Em's, the way Lupe puts a song together is genius. Of course, I'm not saying Em is shit, 'cause he isn't. But if you call Lupe's lyrics ''simple lyriscism,'' then you don't know anything about lyricism my friend.

What i meant, was that he couldn't even atleast come up with a decent single that makes people sit up and take notice. Usually that's the first step, then it becomes irrelevant when the rest of the album is out.

To put "amazing" as a tag to anything Budden has ever come up with is a reach. I'm not hating, it's just i think he is an average rapper with average skills. He had a concept which was cool. But maybe if he's stopped for a second, and thought about putting some more quality and punch in his tracks rather than making a story nicely, then people wouldn't be saying that the album was trash

I hear some people say this about him. How it's so genius how he puts songs together blah blah blah.. But i have not heard one song that has made me spazz out like some people do about his work. And i mean i study English, day to day i have to analyse metaphors, rhyming schemes, hidden messages in songs/poetry.. And this guy is no more than good/average to me.. Never mind fucking "light years" infront of Em in any part of the field.

The thing is with Padded Room is, that the whole album is a punch if you know what I'm saying. The whole package is one great methaphor. Like how the song ''In My Sleep'' covers all the other tracks on the album without directly refering to it. And how ''Exxxes'' isn't about what it seems to be about. The whole albums is like a real padded room, and it deals with the problems he faced during his life (e.g past record deal, relationships, depression etc), while still keeping it refreshing and nice to listen to. If you just listen once, then you won't fully comprehend the depth it has. I don't know if you did analyze the album, but if you didn't I recommend you to do. And while you at it, try out the Mood Muzik series, a must-hear as well.

Now about Lupe, if you really study English and you don't find his work intrigueing, then it might be just the lack of intress in his music for some personal reason. Try out ''Failure,'' one if the most complex rap songs out there. ''Dumb it Down'' is packed with methaphors, hidden messages and wordplay as well. ''Gotta Eat,'' the whole song is a methaphor. ''Mean and Vicious'' ''Twilight Zone'' ''What it Do'' and so on. Just try out his mixtape songs and both of his albums.
