Recovery. Now hit me with your best shot.

It's coolest here to say you prefer Relapse, but even if I love it, to me Recovery is better.

I love both albums, even though I prefer old school Eminem/Slim Shady. But, Relapse is just a better listen and I can skip less tracks on the album. I like the lyrics, the flow, the delivery, everything. It was so on point and felt so.. right. Should've made R2 tbh.

Well, the beat is meeh.. and Nicki sucks ass, but Em is doing a great job :)

@squiggles123, stay wide awake had brilliant storytelling, it takes a few listens to get into it though.

Well Stay Wide Awake has one of Em's best verses in it. Not only because of the storytelling but he rhymes every syllable in one line with 13 other lines, and that's pretty damn hard to do, plus the first two lines in that verse also rhymes with the rest, but not every syllable tho, but still, it's amazing.

So it's mainly from a technical standpoint then? That makes more sense, obviously a lot of people here love it musically as well though.

I only got into Relapse this year, I listened to Recovery when it came out and still listen to it. Could have an influence on why I prefer recovery.

whore to a chainsaw (wtf is wrong with you man?) made a really nice post that captures a lot of what you guys are saying and more, and none of you responded to it.

Good job on expressing your thoughts and explaining that concept whore on a chainsaw (seriously...).

'While recording 2010's Recovery, "I would hear people saying this and that about Relapse," he says. And it got under his skin. "Certainly I'm not going to sit on the Internet all day and read what Sam from Iowa is saying about me," he says. "But I'm a sponge. I've always been a sponge."

And what Mathers soaked up was that for Recovery he needed to get back to who he'd been—the angry loner fighting for respect. "On an emotional level, I want my music to connect with the same kid who I was," he says. "So it was like, 'Okay, let me get serious. Because I feel like I'm being wrote off right now, and I'm kind of on my last leg.' I felt like the underdog again."

Em prefers Recovery.

Word. I remember him saying "Recovery is the best thing that even happened to me, I'm able to see things clearer, I'm sharper, I remember things, my brain moves faster. And, this is who I wanna spend rest of life"

So, we can expect something better than or equivalent to Recovery. I think Recovery gave the push that he needed and spoke to him as to what he needs to do from now on.

The first time I listened to Recovery I thought, is Em back to old em? I thought that when talking to myself came on. The voice and beat sounded like something that could have came out in Eminem Show era.

By the end of the album I was like

I've never been one to change my mind. I loved Relapse when it came out. I hated Recovery. I don't how it takes people so long to figure out what they like. It's either good or it isn't.

They has completely opposite effects. One, Relapse, was released and most people disliked it and was accepted and loved with time. The other, Recovery, was almost universally loved and then disliked with time. Just interesting, I guess I'm the only one that loves and listens to each about the same.
