You all have this whole Eminem obsession thing where he has to be number 1 on every list, seriously. It's like if any music magazine made a top 10 albums of all time and Eminem wasn't on it. "OMG what about TES? Or TMMLP? Wtf guys..." Outside of this forum, people's opinions change. Ye, he is fucking good though...

As somebody posted awhile back: Lyrically MMLP is better
Production wise Blueprint is better

Most, if not every music critic rates Blueprint ahead of MMLP, and even though I don't agree, it's hard to argue with them

Blueprint dropped on 9/11 so I'm sure alot of turned to that album as a comfort zone for what was happening at the time
Same sword they knight you they gon' good night you with
Sh.., Thats' only half if they like you
That ain't even the half what they might do
Don't believe me, ask Michael
See Martin, see Malcolm
You see Biggie, see Pac, see success and its outcome
See Jesus, see Judas; see Caesar, see Brutus
See success is like suicide
Suicide, it's a suicide
If you succeed, prepare to be crucified

I don't think the production of Blueprint was better either. Not that should be a defining factor in ranking them against each other. It matters but the lyricism, vision and presentation matter more.

I don't think it's hard to argue with them either lol. MMLP is easily a top 10 all time hip-hop album. Blueprint isn't. There are many better than it and even of that same year. I can't really say the same for MMLP.

It's easy to argue why MMLP shits all over Blueprint in every aspect.

If MMLP had shitty lyricism, but brilliant production, you'd say that production matters the most.

Your a good poster Base :y:
For me, the production on the Blueprintt is momental, it defined the way mainstream rap music was produced, the production on the MMLP was good but imo it an't compare with Blueprint

Lyrically, MMLP is on another level to Blueprint though, I don't think anybody can argue with that

The only album in '01 that i'd say is better than Blueprint is Cannibal Ox - the Cold Vein and maybe Masta Ace's album, in '00 you can argue that Supreme Clientelle, Stankonia and Reflection Eternal where all better than MMLP

I do think that the MMLP is a much better album than Blueprint, but critially the Blueprint is regarded higher and I can see why, it influenced a decade of music and is still influencing albums that are being made today

Blueprint>>>MMLP
ES>>>Blueprint

And IMO, anyone that has Pac as number one, isn't thinking straight enough to preach "the truth".
My Top 5 (in no order)-

Eminem
Big l
Biggie Smalls
Royce Da 5'9"
Jigga
