The Mockingbird video is much more emotional than this. This looks like it was made by some A-level media studies students who camped outside Em's pad until they could get a hug.

I'm really mixed.

Little disappointed at the lack of his mom in terms of footage of her now. I would have liked to see Hailey, Whitney, & Aliana to see Debbie.

But I did like the first person POV from his mother and her everyday life.

At the same time, I feel like the video could have been stronger with Em inviting his mom into his home.

I did like the letters though and the home movies and photos of Em as a kid.

Overall I thought it was good. Does anyone know if that guy who she mistook for Em is Nate the singer? I was wondering if maybe its a hint he's in the video but I don't know what he looks like.

Also thinking, I would have liked to see Em actually spit this in the video. I would like him to just spit this song. Feel like it would have been powerful to see him spit the song.

I liked the video. It was okay. But there was one thing that seriously bugged me.

In the end where you see her crying on the photo album, I thought of how fucking pissed Debbie would be at seeing this if it turns out he hasn't reached out to her at all and this is just how Em imagines she'd react after all this time.

If that was the case and I was Debbie in this scenario, I'd probably drive up to his mansion with a shit-load of valium bottles and just chuck them at him.

what the fuck is wrong with everybody? this is a beautiful work of art. sure, i wanted it to actually be debbie too and i wish it was longer, but nate's last verse isn't really relevant to the eminem part of the song anyway, because it's about nate ruess. makes sense why they went with the short version. i feel like maybe the first-person concept went over some people's heads here. it's supposed to put the viewer in a position to see the situation from debbie's perspective and empathize with her, and i think that for eminem to do that to his fans after all the shit he's talked about his mom over the years is fucking genius. it also seems like people are bummed that there isn't more eminem, which is just silly. it's a music video, not an eminem commercial. if he felt that he didn't need to be all over this video, there was obviously a reason for it. this is a fantastic video. spike and em won so hard. i'm not disappointed at all by the video, just by the negativity here.

and yes, i realize the irony of me telling stans to be more appreciative of a thing eminem did. but really guys, this video is pretty fucking gr8
