INAD and LTWYL are very dry, Survival as some extra bit of warmth to it. They probably compressed Survival a lot.

Yeah, depending on where you're from you could pronounce things differently. It really could just be habit from him.

It makes sense in that you and I understand what he's getting at. But it makes no grammatical sense. Same with the word (or not-word) mistuck.

It actually does make grammatical sense, straighter is a word and you could hold your arms straighter upwards than they currently are... BUT... I understand what you mean - but Em clearly does this intentionally, he likes playing with words and writing shit in weird ways...

It's not a mistake or a stretch, he obviously knows it sounds weird... it's the opposite of writing in a predictable way and he's always done this and he's always clearly aware of it...

To me it's no different than a comedian saying a feedline, with you expecting something to go left and then the comedian goes right and the surprise is what creates the comedy.

In Em's case - the surprise of his wording and style is what continues his style.

He's just fucking with words and choosing to write shit in unusual ways, that's what a worsmith SHOULD do... so many fans love his material where it just sounds 100% conversational and it's chronological... and completely plain, straightforward language... that's so bland though, obviously he's still written a lot of amazing shit this way but this is a showcase song.

Just like him saying...

He likes creating tongue-twisty sounds and word salads... he likes to showcase his skill and manuervring with words, which he does so much more lately probably because he's running low on actual content, so all his focus is on HOW he's saying it...

I don't believe he needed a rhyme for 'rotator'... there's a million things he could think to rhyme with that, I think he actually went "hold them bitches... hmm... " and then liked the tricky/awkward sound of saying 'straighter up' and THEN rhymed on from that.

I find it so strange how people hear that as a mistake, to me it's clearly intentional tricky writing, he's trying to catch your ears off guard and write in strange ways... and it sounds good to me, I love being surprised with the use of words, that is what great hip-hop is to me, even breaking words up and breaking rules (as long as it's intentional of course) to fux with your ears. The fact he says 'straighter up' catches me off-guard since I never hear that, and then the influx of rhymes which follow exploit that and it all sounds hella good to me. Way more so than if he had written it plainly.

He's always been obsessed with this, and assonance and the sounds of words rather than just the words, and his prime is littered with blatant fuxing with language and words where he's taking a preconception or an expected saying or pattern and flipping it or changing it for the sake of how it sounds... he's obsessed with delivery and the sound, more than anything else. More than even what he's actually saying. Always has been.
