Em Rapping as Hip-Hop...

Postby EminemBase » Nov 17th, '10, 03:28

I'm making this post about the concept I guessed may of been the case with "I Need a Doctor" - Which is: Eminem rapping as hip-hop saying he (it) needs a Doctor (Dre) to revive it.

Now, from the second snippet, I think it's almost certainly not that now and is actually just a track with Em and Dre rapping about each other.

Amadeo said he thinks this concept would be corny and it's been done by Wayne. I disagree, first of all Wayne didn't do that concept - He rapped like he was a Doctor to hip-hop, he didn't rap as hip-hop. He also made a mess of it and it's all in the execution.

With what I picture it as, I think an extreme (well-done) execution of this idea would of been a genius 1st single for the album....

Picture Em rapping realistically, as if a human being / living organism as hip-hop. So you keep the language the same but the knowledge that, that is the concept of course changes the entire perspective and power of the material. Like it did with "25 to Life" when you heard that last line then had to rewind to appreciate it in its proper context.

Imagine taking it to its extreme, fully committing to it as an idea. Not just talking about Dre being a doctor to hip-hop, but Em actually being hip-hop and he could... It could build up like he could take it from say... 2000-2010 time-wise in the genre's history, condense its events in the first verse in various forms... Act as if he (it) is being chocked or dying with Soulja Boy etc. but like, fully committed like with the acting and everything like he (hip-hop) is actually dying and you can hear psychotic pain through Em's voice etc.

It could peak in extremity in the second verse, with hip-hop being at a critical point (2007) going into the chorus, then on the third Dre brings it back to life (present day = Detox)... Which would also be a perfect opener for the album and perfect song for Dre's return. And fitting to the hype / supposed significance of Detox's mythical build-up.

love the idea, and em could execute it very well I'm sure of it, but until the full song leaks (which u already said, and i agree, it isn't this concept or idea or one close to it imo anyway) or anything else is known, this is just a cool concept idea from you :y:

Yeah I'd agree but...

I don't think you realize what you mean to me
not the slightest clue
Me and you were like a crew
I was like your side kick
but......

I ain't giving up faith
And you ain't giving up on me
GET UP DRE!!!
I'm dyin, I need you, come back for fuck sake!!!!

Those lyrics now make it look like it is that again lmao. "I'm dying, I need you, come back!!"

doesn't sound like Em talking about Dre. "COME BACK". back where? that makes more sense if in the context of this concept. Hip-hop screaming to Dre to COME BACK.

Maybe it's just Dre's verse that's more general.

This could also be the song Alex Da Kid was talking about.

That'd be a really cool concept imo. Not sure if the song will be that but let's wait until the whole song leaks to see.

yeah that's a really nice concept. hope this is where em's going at. it'd be really corny if it's just em telling dre how much he needs dre.

This could be the greatest leak of all if executed well.
