Real talk, how can anyone like these love/depression songs?

Postby 1TS OK4Y » Dec 22nd, '10, 18:08

At first they were ok, nothing great, and definitely not the reason I've liked Eminem since My Name Is came out, but it's starting to be EVERY track. Every single one. With the one exception being Roman's Revenge.

WTF is he doing? Why is he making this shit music? It's not so bad lyrically as it just is terrible music, it sounds like shit, he flows like shit, and it's just boring to listen to.

In before, BU BU U CAN NEVER MAKE THEM HAPPY :(

well if you were a real em fan you wouldn't be happy with the shit he comes out with now either. especially when he proves he can still do it on tracks like underground, almost famous, my darling, careful what you wish for, on fire, cinderella man, etc etc.

like every song after recovery has sucked balls with absolutely no replay value at all. i do kinda like where i'm at, but everything else is garbage, i don't even have that shit on my itunes (even though I have 660+ other eminem songs)

p.s. don't even say it's a stage he's going through. it's not. he has said in numerous interviews he feels great and glad to be sober.

It's all about your own personal taste

I don't see a hint of depression in his recent, post Recovery music. And these aren't really love songs, they're more like "fuck love" songs. The only true love song he has made since his comeback is Space Bound, everything else has been "fuck hoes" this and "fuck hoes" that. Which I like, personally. The yelling flow is getting a bit stagnant, sure, but he's still got it. It's just about what type of music you like, I really think what the problem here is that you don't like EMINEM rapping about these subjects, rather than the subjects themselves. I'm sure not every "love" song you've come across, you hated it because you hate the topic of love

Where I'm At is awesome, and is a "get over you" type track. And I like that type of music, it makes me feel better about past relationships failing. If one person feels something, anything, from a song, then that artist has succeeded, as an artist

I do this shit in my sleep, I’m sleepin' now, imagine if I awake

It's not that I hate when he does this music, he always has..even on his older albums..but it's the only type of music he has been making as of late. That's why it's just getting annoying. He has never in his career only rapped about one thing like he has been lately..

Good post though, glad you didn't freak out like some other kids on this forum will lol.

I feel like his "fuck hoes" attitude is more of a depression type attitude then it used to be though. Like he used to say whitty comments and laugh @ women. Now he's all sad and angry that he doesn't have one it seems.

Is he supposed to rap about his mom, and his shitty life he had all over again?

I don't think so. Besides, what else is he supposed to rap about?

Thanks :y:

This is true, but Em has an addictive personality. Probably especially now since he's completely clean. So I just think that he really likes doing this type of music, and he'll probably stay on it until something else inspires him. By the time his next album comes, I'm almost 100% sure he'll have different subject matters and styles, he's never had the same album twice

I think his work with Dre is what we're gonna see where he's at musically. I mean, you also gotta think that Em hopped on these songs that are actually songs about relationships and love. Dre...is not a lovey-dovey type person lol. So we'll probably see a different subject matter soon :y:

It's not because you don't like a song because of its content or what it deals with, that everybody's going to agree with you. There are people who prefer listening to love songs, and people who prefer listening to depressing tracks & so on. You should leave people alone, you can't judge for themselves, let's them judge what they listen to by themselves. If they like depressing shit, what the matter I mean :y:
