Move over Michael Jackson, Eminem is now the most popular artist on Facebook; alive or dead.

AOL News reports that the Detroit lyricist officially claimed the title over the weekend when he surpassed the King of Pop with the most likes on the social networking site. As of press time Em has 30,339,050 likes, while MJ has 29,889,0268.

Last month, the Detroit bred superstar made headlines after he exceeded Lady Gaga’s status on Facebook. She is currently in second place with 30,150,676 likes. This battle is sure to be ongoing, as both Gaga and Jackson are known to have very supportive fanbases.

In related news, Em’s third solo album for Interscope, The Eminem Show, was recently certified diamond by the the Recording Institute Association of America (RIAA). This isn’t the first time he shipped over 10,000,000 copies of one of his discs. 2001’s The Marshall Mathers LP also earned the Em a diamond plaque.—Elan Mancini

MJs 90's albums were his best, his songwriting improved so much. Fuck, if he didn't have fucking vitiligo they would probably be more popular then his 80's albums. But Nooooooooooooooooooo, he freaked people out by turning white and had his legacy shit on by an angry dad who missed his chance at a big movie deal,and a family of fucking lunatics.

His 2000 album probably would have been dope if Dre didnt turn him down.

Even though Em is way more popular than him now, and MJ was only popular the last year or two cause of his death, his popularity in music will never be fully leapfrogged. Selling the most records for one album proves that. They made so many MJ collectibles, including his own video game which I used to have and love. I still love Em a million times more but anyone who thinks different then what's stated above, if MJ was alive, is an idiot, idc if you're an Em fan or not.
