1 Year: Big Difference

Postby ScottMurray » May 9th, '11, 18:19

Look at Em from the Relapse Era - 09' and look at him today, his clothing style and personality is just so different! i know that im stating the blatant obvious here but why do you think it is so different over the space of less than a year?

I know he's all about this maturing bullshit and all that but he was very immature when Relapse came out and his interviews had humour painted all over them :y: what is your views on why he has dulled down since Recovery?

I was wondering that too, he changed a lot in one year. He wasn't even wearing jeans like he does now back then, and his movements were awkward.. Really..

I think he meant from the Relapse Era (09) to the Recovery Era ('10). Which has already been a year ago. He changed his style from Relapse to Recovery and now. Now is the same as last year though. I hope that is what he's saying. Otherwise you'd be right.

I don´t think he changed THAT much. I read The Way I Am book which was written in the end of his drug addiction and he looked so mature and serious. The grown Eminem. The only things that changed are his music style & clothing style.

I don't get this thread his relapse interviews are just like his recovery ones what's the difference seriously go watch his johnathan ross and jimmy kimmel interviews he's still mature in those ones. I really don't see a difference at all. His clothing stye wasn't much different either.

Well, I think the 'real' him is the him you see now. He's just a normal, shy, intelligent guy with a sarcastic sense of humour. All that zany shit is a cover-up.

I used to be zany a lot as a kid too, it's a way of getting around being awkward. Just be OTT and people would think I was crazy and funny. People still think I'm crazy but for different reasons. Because I'm obsessive and just, I dunno. I'm just odd lmao.

But, yeah - I think the Relapse interviews etc. were obviously forced. You could tell he was just trying to force himself back to what he was when he came out.

I think "Cold Wind Blows" is a better representation of him and his humour (mean, spiteful and sarcastic) than... "We Made you" (zany, silly). But, I love Relapse anyway and most of the zaniness is, phrased so uniquely and poetically. It's just very particular. Saying things like "never has there been so much finesse and nostalgia" etc. lmao. Just... outside of his own dialect, it's eloquent.

To start it with "never has there been..." makes you HAVE to keep listening to hear what 'never has been'. I really like Relapse and that whole era of style(s) for that reason. It's his most satisfying lyricism to me in that aspect. And the production too, it's like a carnival of words... just makes it sound like some big fucking psycho Broadway rap fest or something.

But yeah, it's pretty annoying how he looks different every year. As in... look at him even from 1999 to 2000. Not just his clothes his like... I dunno, his face and glare and everything just SLIGHTLY changes in subtle little ways that makes him look almost entirely different. It's weird.

I figured :p

Why did he change so much? Who knows, I made this point a few months ago about how he looked so happy  and enthusiastic  about his music during his Relapse interviews meanwhile he looks depressed and bored as shit with the Recovery ones. The only Recovery interview I can recall him being relatively excited was the one of that Jonathon Ross show.

Seriously are you people really running out of things to miss about him now its eminem was happy during his relapse interviews when before it was he looks miserable and bored. I would really like to know what relapse interviews your talking about besides the germany ones he acts the same as he did in his recovery ones.

This is exactly what i mean lol. I know its been 2 years since Relapse but he changed dramatically from 09' to 10' and has stayed the way he was in 10' till now :)

He seemed more fun in the Relapse Era, there was so many funny interviews, remember the German Tv Show Freestyle with that crazy guy haha ??

And he would give the camera the finger and all that just like he used to, it seems like he would get a bad image if he gave the camera the finger now...

Im just curious cause it was such a rapid change!

Yeah.. I think it's partly because of his album themes. He was trying to be slim shady again with Relapse.. And more grown up with Recovery. So when he was out doing promotion for these albums he acted the same as he did on the albums. If that makes any sense whatsoever.

..And with whatever comes out next. He'll probably change shit up again.
