When Eminem is at the top of his game, his genius is immediately apparent because it sounds great. But Em is usually incapable of employing double meaning: everything he’s ever said has meant exactly what it seemed to mean.

:facepalm2 :facepalm2 :facepalm2 :facepalm2 :facepalm2 :facepalm2

article is invalid.

now im a huge hov fan,i know BP1 by fucking heart but, knowing that renegade was written with nickle on it,and Em sent the beat with the verses on it,jay had the chance to hear the verse before he written his, just makes the ether more embarrassing than it already is.

its like losing in poker knowing what on the table and what yo opponents hand.
The devil ain't on a level same as him!

Completely ignoring the article (it's RapGenius) it was close, Em just edged it.

In no way did he 'murder' or 'kill' him. But of course Nas said it, so it must be true.

Don't forget it, in the first place, it was Em's track with Royce. :smoking:
Although Em killed Hov.

Nas said Nicki Minaj and Drake are keeping rap alive so that must be true to.
Fuck top five, bitch, I'm top four
And that includes Biggie and Pac, whore
And I got an Evil Twin
So who the fuck do you think that third and that fourth spot's for?

GameTheory wrote:For example, in one of my favorite lines ever, Em describes impregnating J-Lo on “I’m Back”:

Cause if I ever stuck it to any singer in showbiz
It'd be Jennifer Lopez, and Puffy you know this!
I'm sorry Puff, but I don't give a fuck if this chick was my own mother
I still fuck her with no rubber and cum inside her
And have a son and a new brother at the same time
And just swear that it ain't mine!
As great as the passage is, other than mentioning that at the time Puff Daddy was dating J-Lo, there’s not much to add…“Well…he wants to have sex with Jennifer Lopez, you see, and he doesn’t want to use a condom…” No duh! Nobody wants to use a condom, you don’t need Rap Genius telling you that.

And what the fuck else should that mean?

He's acting as if Jay-Z uses double-meaning/metaphor/and other forms of poetry on every song. He does it on like 3 out of his 1000 songs.

As C.R.E.A.M. said, you can't put that one aspect above the other few combined. Actually, you can't even put it against one of them because it's extremely subjective whether the first is more important than the second. And if we go by that ranking than Lupe should be the greatest ever. But of course, if I say that than I'll get jumped on because Lupe's flow, rhyming and discography aren't up to par and that same people will make complexity almost completely irrelevant. And that's why I always say that the most important thing is to be well-rounded and Em was the best at that.

did they totally ignore eminem's 2nd verse?

To shatter the picture in which of that as they paint me
as a mother of hate, Satan and scatter-brained atheist
But that ain't the case, see it's a matter of taste
We as a people decide if Shady's as bad as they say he is
Or is he the ladder, a gateway to escape?
Media scapegoat, they can be mad at today
See it's as easy as cake, simple as whistling Dixie
while I'm wavin the pistol at sixty Christians against me
Go to war with the Mormons, take a bath with the Catholics
in holy water no wonder they try to hold me under longer

that bit is enough to kill jay-z on this song.....
if you go platinum it's got nothin to do with luck, it just means that a million people are stupid as fuck.

Yup, though I'm used to calling him C.R.E.A.M so he shouldn't expect that to change.
