I think people don't like throw it up because:

- It's Yelawolf (I like him though)
- None them really fit the beat and the sounds don't mesh IMO
- Eminem tried a new flow, I kinda liked it after a few listens

Em's verse on Throw It Up > Em's verse(s) on A Kiss.

A Kiss > Throw It Up though.

In what regards? Rhyme-wise, no.

Well, I wouldn't consider it "wack" lyrically, but there wasn't a single rhyme scheme that stood out or was impressive in the slightest.

Menzo wrote: Flow? Like it or not, he's STILL flowing.

I disagree.

Me, Yelawolf and Gangsta Boo came here to show you a thing or two,
'Bout sign language, middle fingers aimed at you so we don't gotta SCREAM AT YOU!
Ow! I just bit my bottom lip, it was an accident,
I went to go tell 'em all to go get BUCKED,
But I'm never gonna bite my tongue, little bitch throw it up

That part sounded so horrible flow-wise, it doesn't even LOOK like it could possibly flow when you read it as text. He was taking awkward pauses after every second word, like he really didn't know what he was doing.
And for a great deal of his verse Em sounded like he was just bored as fuck, mumbling about some dumb shit.

Menzo wrote: Content? His content on A Kiss is WAY more focused on the hatred of women than on Throw It Up.

Yes, maybe. But on A Kiss he was actually being creative for the most part and didn't cling on the gimmick of being white trash all the time.

"They say I act like an asshole, when I pull up at the White Castle,
And I ask for an appli-cation, throw it back in her face an',
Tell the bitch I'm a rapper, then I wack her in the head with a Whopper,
That I bought from BK, you expect me to be proper?"

This part is such a desperate attempt at reviving the dirty white trash Slim Shady persona of the mid-90s. Things like this are the reason a lot of people just view him as a cracked shell of himself.

Also no fillers along the lines of "skidda dee da da. Prada? Nadda"

This song and especially his verse... there's really no defending it. I'm not the person to lose hope in Eminem after he decides to stupidly mess around on a feature, but this was just bad.
And A Kiss was unequivocally better imo.
So, here's where you reply posting a facepalm smiley and call me a retard.

like seriously throw it up really? very disappointing. i love em and i loved HTS, but that was shit. Like okay yeah, tried a "new" flow (not really though) but the content was straight garbage, just horrible. Hopefully that song was recorded before the cypher and is not a preview of what is to come with 50, young jeezy, raekwon, and dmx shit. I seriously thought he was coming back but, that just moved him back a couple pegs. Anyone who thinks that was good (for eminem standards, remember "Just Don't Give a Fuck," "Kill You," "Stay Wide Awake," and "So Bad") is just kidding themselves. So much hype for literally shit :facepalm :n: :facepalm2 :shakehead:

The Kiss has the mail lady line... and the hoes in the driveway line... and the dam/beaver line.

Oh the creativity

Cool.

Absolutely.

Menzo wrote: Nah, it didn't sound horrible flow-wise, he's spitting faster - which is a crime these days.

Yes, yes it does. And nowhere did I say that he shouldn't be spitting fast.

Menzo wrote: You should separate the verse between "SCREAM AT YOU" and "Ow!" because without the knowledge of the pause, it would look like complete shit - assuming we approach this via structure.

Yeah, I just copy pasted the lyrics from the other thread so I didn't edit anything. And I'm not approaching it via structure. It just sounds shit when he pauses after every second word with that choppy delivery

Menzo wrote: Wait...Em sounded bored as fuck? Have your ears been torn off with sheers? Push the Q-tip too far? Or just coated with wax? Whichever of the three, you're completely out of the loop. He sounds charismatic as fuck. Mumbling about some dumb shit? Same song and dance :coffee:

Blablabla childish insults... what else do we have?
Charismatic as fuck? If this is what Eminem sounds like when he's being charismatic then I don't even wanna know what a bored Eminem sounds like for you.
He's just talking fast and then simply screams the last few words after a few bars, as if he were to surprise or shock anybody.
There's no emphasis, no energy, no passion and no sign of charisma whatsoever.

Same Song And Dance has a concept. He's depicting three different rape fantasies in a technically perfect and engaging manner. This? Mumbling about some dumb shit.

Menzo wrote: He also mentions a trailer in A Kiss at one particular part and he mentions it references it twice on Throw It Up and that was for comedic, sarcastic purpose, "trailer trash pioneer" - Oh wow, you're right. Total dedication.

I know it was for comedic purpose, but it wasn't funny or original in the slightest. He isn't trailer trash. He hasn't been trailer trash since 15 years. He's a millionaire hitting 40, but he is still keeping on at that gimmick because apparently, he has nothing new to rap about.

Menzo wrote: I guess we'll go back in time and tell Em to not babble on Who Knew and Square Dance and probably other tracks I can't recollect. But wait...that was pre-Encore, never mind.

What? What makes you think he's babbling on Who Knew and Square Dance? What reason do you have to bring these two tracks into this? Seriously, your argumentation is that of a 10-year old.

Menzo wrote: There is a reason to defend it when it's inexplicably picked apart and shitted on so idiotically.

I didn't say there isn't a reason to defend this song, because people like you will always find a reason to defend whatever the fuck Eminem puts out. I said there's no defending it, because quite frankly, it's shit.

Menzo wrote: "OH MY GOD, THAT SAME STUTTER FLOW WE HEARD SO MANY TIMES". What? That seems pretty new to me, I thought screaming was the thing we've heard so many times. Wait, huh? Punchlines?

It's a typical TR trend.

I never said anything along the lines of that. Stop labeling me as your average TRShady fanboy bitching about Eminem. I said that his flow was annoying on this song, and I backed up why I think so.

Search my post history before you mark me down as one of the people who always complained about Em's screaming or the punchlines, because that's not me.

Menzo wrote: And I'm not saying A Kiss isn't better, because it is. Why? It's a full song he was fully dedicated to, that's why. People saying Gangsta Boo did better than Em deserves a knife shoved up their fuckin asses.

I also never said that Gangsta Boo was better. She was awful and same goes for that hillbilly.
How about you respond to the things I actually said instead of making all of these assumptions that fit into your picture of me?
