Relapse.

Postby ScottMurray » Nov 13th, '11, 06:30

After BME's EP and the Yela feature, iv started to listen to Relapse and Refill again, and man, its so fucking enjoyable!

BME is fucking boring now man, Em's flow is horrible on some tracks, and i only realllllly like about 4 of the songs. Welcome 2 Hell, Above The Law, The Reunion and Echo.

The Yela feature was a terrible idea. It may have seemed like a good idea for them at the time if Em was to rap in a Soulja Boy type way for a joke, but its sparked so much shit and hes getting a ton of hate for it man.

Relapse is absolutely flawless throughout, the lyrics, concept, flow, beats. It has everything in place. I agree the accent is a little annoying throughout, especially on songs where it would have so much more better without it, but its still fucking great music :y:

The way Em has been rapping lately, and the way that it sounds like shit when he does it fast, is worrying me for the Tech N9ne feature if we get it. Tech will fucking blow him out the booth if he attempts to do it tech's style.

Anyways, listen to Relapse and fucking enjoy it, most people have all been far too harsh on it :y:

I must mention, Yelawolf's verse is fucking dope man :y:

Alot of people on SL are starting a twitter trend to try and get Em to listen to his fans about it and change his style of rapping.

And Koolo is being urged to contact Paul or Royce to get Em to listen.

Bit drastic i think, but i do expect better from 'the worlds greatest rapper'

A majority of the worlds greatest rapper's fans are getting bored too :y:

Relapse had a full concept bro, an album with punchlines isnt a concept. He was rapping about killing chicks in a fucking dope way :y:

The only time i want to hear another fast food lyric is when i play 3AM and he's waking up naked at McDonalds.

Hell is already getting really old now, I almost completely stopped listening to it.
I think it's one of those albums that make a comeback later on.
I ain't got a problem with Em's style now, honestly, I don't really care.
I'm just glad he's still at it.

I couldn't give a fuck about how skillful he is NOW.
He's been one of the most successful artists of our time, sold countless units, played tons of shows..
Legacy is powerful compared to skill really.
You see a lot of people praising Vanilla Ice and he had 0 skill.

So fuck it.

Recovery, wether you agree or not, is a bunch of the most Anti-Eminem beats the world has ever heard, excluding Cold Wind Blows, On Fire and Untitled.

The epicness of just hearing Em's voice now is what keeps me happy tbh.
I couldn't give a shit.

The anger and oldness in his voice is always epic.
Like rah rah rah..

And yeah, Recovery beats are bullshit.
I want to strangle some of those producers.

Recovery is in no way conected with Relapse, i dont give a fuck what you say, its not.

Relapse got hate and he needed to save his ass from a second ear bashing with Relapse 2, hence Recovery. I also think thats why there is so many producers and not Dre focusing on it for a good lengthy period of time.

But it is connected. :facepalm

Both albums are considered his comeback. The Not Afraid video is basically the transition from Relapse to Recovery.

The Not afraid song also contains him bashing his own comeback cd.... why was he bashing one of his greatest albums in all fields ( beats, lyrics, concept, flow etc.. ) because the fans didnt agree with it, so he tried to win them back by agreeing :y:

If Em knew that he had ran the accents into the ground and he was thinking fuck my last cd that shits in my trash, then why put it out?

Relapse was one of those CDs you could listen to and think..Damn, it's 2004 again.
I didn't feel that with Recovery, although I'm aware they were written and recorded around the same time.
I guess it was Em's decision to change the style up so he doesn't seem outdated.
And that's fine really.

If he wanted to put out Relapse 2, why didn't he?

The majority of his fans NOW are mainstream, thanks to a few soppy verse, shit beats and Rihanna.

So a 7 track filler is a replacement for it?

Note that Refill contained a BIG mainstream song. In my opinion, it was probaly to keep a small buzz in order to work on new tracks to save his next album.
