evolution of eminem

Postby StanBase » Jan 31st, '12, 18:44

i guess yall are sick of me bitching about my project, but w/e.

this is how im gonna go forward at the presentation:
different aspects of his style in every album:

Infinite: optimism

SSLP: f*cking P.O'd because of earlier failure

MMLP: the album was a reaction to SSLP-hate. also darker and more intense than SSLP

TES: more mature. has a sircus sound to it in every song

ENCORE:

RELAPSE: grotesque.

RECOVERY: more intense shouting compared to relapse. more personal.

POST-RECOVERY: shouting

also gonna talk about 8 mile and him working on shady records 06 and '11

No, but seriously, you're just idealizing relapse and forget how trash some of its songs were.

^thanks menzo! you're really helping out! :b:

it sure is a fun assignment doe :D

Also: I think I'll find quotes that sums up the album theme (sorta), like a line from TWIA.

Well, let's see. Now you can't say a song is trash because you didn't like it, it's a theme album, meaning the album is following a certain direction.

Only weak songs were:
We Made You, Crack A Bottle, Medicine Ball and maybe Hello.
The rest were either great or pure fire, whether you liked it or not...Technically it was crafted beautifully.

Songs like Deja Vu, Must Be The Ganja, Stay Wide Awake...etc are just amazing.
And remember, a classic doesn't mean perfect album.

Agree 100% fucking percent with the song choices. Wouldn't call it a classic or anything, considering I think Recovery and H:TS to both be better than Relapse...but that's just me. I agree with everything except the classic part. Must Be The Ganja is fucking underrated, everyone says it's bad but it's really not. Relapse is fire, but that's all it was...fire. No attachment to the music. I feel Recovery is closer to being a classic than Relapse based on tracks...I think Recovery was put together quite well in the grand scheme of things.

I love how everyone hold Eminem Show is such a high regard, when in fact its his most censored album.
